I also just posted this on another thread, but it fits here:

I’m a Chicago area R1S LE reservation holder with a Mar/Apr 22 delivery window who received some interesting news from CS yesterday when I reached out about whether I should still be expecting my vehicle in that time period.

I was fully expecting to get a robotic “Your delivery is still scheduled for the March/April window”, or even the dreaded “Supply chain issues are causing an X week delay”, but what I got was the relatively specific: ”Your delivery is scheduled to happen by March 31, 2022.”

Bridgitte didn’t have any more details and I still haven’t heard from a Guide, so I’m not holding my breath, but a guy can hope!

Seems like you’ll hear from a guide imminently - I’ve been told, consistently, that I’ll hear from a guide “about a month before delivery”.

Wild that R1S and R1T are going to be shipping simultaneously (i realize R1S volumes are going to be much lower than R1T, but I didn't expect to see them both in March).

I hope this means that after 3/10 we'll see a deluge of information on the R1S.

Interesting, I actually think the market is there for the R1S to outsell the R1T in the long run.

I agree with you. The T is facing competition out the gate, and despite what some folks believe on this forum there isn't direct competition for the S in any real form for the foreseeable future (I'd need to see an EV defender or 4Runner rather than the EV9).

If someone wants a 7 seater with proper off road capability the R1S is it right now and for a few years I'd imagine. If you just want 7 seats that's a bit different, but I think of those as secondary competition (e.g. you don't typically go looking at Defenders and end up in an XC90)

Meaning his/her ETA is March-April & hasn't heard anything. Not that the March-April window is here already. ?
Yep, that is what I meant. I probably could have worded that a bit better. I can confirm I know how a calendar works though (i.e., it is the day and month my wife tells me it is). ;)

Based on some other posts tonight hopefully you're going to hear some good news in the not too distant future!

R1T delivered 3-24-22
I just had a chat with CS. Nothing new here, he just stated that I am still on track for March/April delivery and a guide will reach out "s00n".

I also just noticed that I will be entering year 4 of waiting after today.

Currently configured with FG/OC on 22s. I love the look of the 22s on the R1S, but I’m considering switching to the 20s because, well, Chicago.

Seems a bit odd that sticking with the "Stock" wheel size would apparently hold back their delivery. Guess Rivian is prioritizing the optional wheels
It makes sense since the 21s are custom made just for Rivian by Pirelli and depending on numbers Pirelli might not be prioritizing these tires over a larger order from another brand if they have to prioritize their own supply chain.

Died of old age during the wait
I am May/June R1S, and in a CS chat this week was told -without me specifically asking- that my current projection was May. That may just be the default in their system in that they want to get us vehicles early in the window and will plan on that until they can't. I'm certainly not expecting a vehicle before labor day (2022).
