I am May/June R1S, and in a CS chat this week was told -without me specifically asking- that my current projection was May. That may just be the default in their system in that they want to get us vehicles early in the window and will plan on that until they can't. I'm certainly not expecting a vehicle before labor day (2022).
CS chat from this morning... "Still on track for March - April delivery :)
Your assigned Guide should be reaching out within the next week or so and that's your signal that the finish line is in sight!"

For what its worth, Rivian CS confirmed today that there are no delays for March/April and that production is ramping up. He also indicated that wall chargers will be shipped in advance of the vehicle delivery.

"We're on track and there are no production delays at this time! I'm lucky enough to work in the plant and I can tell you first hand how production is certainly ramping up and it's so exciting to see!"

The Early adopter program is no longer active, that means no discount.

I am going to work from home for the foreseeable future, I don’t intend to spend 70k for an SUV now.
What will you be doing, if you're at liberty to say.

I am a backend engineer, will be responsible building out the integrations/messaging across the enterprise, so all the apps within the enterprise & outside the enterprise (ex: external vendors) can talk to each other. Will work across domains like finance, supply chain, manufacturing etc..

This is simply false. Im more than willing to take Rivian to task, but I’m sorry, to say management is inept while every single automotive company deals with the same issues is kind of laughable.

Now I’m sure we can all agree management has screwed the pooch on a variety of issues: investor outreach and squandering the goodwill of pre-order holders with crumby communication. Likewise, I’m sure there have been some execution failures that can and should be laid their feet, (the sexism lawsuit, the turnover in senior leadership re: manufacturing, the poor outreach to their future neighbors in ga).

I’m frustrated too, just not personally going to blame them for things I know to be out of their control.
So you want this kind of communication?

So the subsidy has gone but do new employees still get preferential delivery times compared to third party customers?

It might depend on their roles I guess, I don’t know the official policy since I am not in know yet. So don’t quote me on this.

But people whose work requires them to know the vehicle inside out might get preference but others don’t. My referral has a R1S on order (oct 2022 est. delivery), he said he doesn’t get preference over customer deliveries & doesn’t have a discount either as there was never a discount for R1S.

EDI is part of it, but it will be more than EDI.
Yeah EDI is just the transmission.

I've built a system for EDI with all the interstate natural gas companies. Nice to work with a standard, makes things super easy.

Good luck! Rivian seems like a great company that's doing exciting stuff during a major economic inflection point. Should be cool to have a front row seat.
