My scheduled/delayed charging now works. If I plugged in my charger which doesn't turn on until after midnight the car would fault and not charge until about 2-3 months ago. Unless they flashed an update when I had the recalls done, I assumed this was a OTA update.
Or just random luck. They haven't had any updates issued to the U.S. market. Scheduled charging at the car level is still not working for people. It's an ongoing complaint because Europe has been having an update roll put for months. We won't get one until this summer either version 3.0. Which it sounds like will require a trip to the dealer.

(I'm not at all grumpy about it.?)

I haven't had to mess with the VW scheduling charge settings since this started being compatible with my Juice Box charger. It turns on after midnight to charge at the cheapest rate, previously the car would fault out and not charge at all...works great now. The ID4 is a good car and a great value but just an ok electronic. Perfect gap material for me, but tech obsessed perfection it isn't.

That's good!

I like mine a lot too. Just annoyed by VW not following through with what they said they would.

It's still quite early but the recent press release about having 2 way charging by the end of the year has me hopeful to keep one around for awhile. The EVs will be more refined in a few years when their is supply and more options. Competition drives innovation and excellence...at least in theory.

Help me - I have options this week to go buy another EV, which are available.

Option 1 - Buy brand new Tesla Model 3 TODAY
Option 2 - Buy brand new VW ID4 TODAY
Option 3 - Keep waiting for this magic to happen from Rivian

Anyone else moved on to another car?
I'm worried if I keep waiting, what if I loose the option for these EVs and Rivian never keeps their promise.

Thanks for help.

I suggest options 1 or 2, that way I am one reservation closer to having my own R1T. :)

TBH, I purchased a Mustang Mach E last summer to keep me happy until the R1T comes in, I've fallen in love with the Mach E. The only vehicle that will get me out of my Mach E is the R1T.

My 2 cents.

Hello dear Forum members,

I have been following this forum for some time now, and today decided to join. So this is my first post.
It has been 3 years and 4 months since I placed my order for a Rivian R1T.

The only information I have is my delivery window of March / April

I have called / emailed / followed up / asked for escalation / reached out to Rivian employees on LinkedIn / asked a friend who knows some senior VP at Rivian to get more information /

NO LUCK - Can't get a straight answer. It's always the most generic response, which is now doing two things.

ONE - It makes me upset. Yes it does, because they can and should be less vague.
TWO - Should I continue to wait or move on? Will this ever happen.

I'd love to see what do members here think?

I can’t speak to your situation, but it sounds like you are 10 months ahead of me if I’ve done the math right. I think this will be a great vehicle, and you should get it by Summer or earlier. Just hang in there. I’m still waiting to hear. I thought they would have a two month window in our accounts by now but apparently that is not yet working. I’m pretty disappointed in that.

recently they stated a v3 update was coming out, I bought an ID.4 for my college students to use, it's a great car and I don't have to worry about one of them wanting to test out a 4s 0-60.

This spring was the target date, there was a discussion with the CEO of VW on Reddit if you want to look at the details. THink it was v3.1 or so, as v3.2 is supposedly coming with the ID Buzz.

I dunno man, two Rivians seems pretty indulgent.

I can confidently say, I'm happy that I bought the Tesla.

This was another thing I was afraid of, and that's exactly what happened.

Prices are going to be adjusted !!!!

Some impressions of the Model X:

Pros
1. Really enjoying the Beta FSD
2. Quick acceleration
3. Interior quality and finish is far better than what I was led to believe
4. Supercharging network. I drove to Portland and back.

Cons
1. Road Noise, yes it is loud
2. Don't much care for Phantom Braking, hoping for a fix soon
3. Still not a fan of the X doors really

Long Term:
I'm hoping to get my R1T and then sell the Model X.
But now feeling iffy about it. Reasons to feel iffy are the evasiveness with which Rivian does not want want to set those clear expectations on timelines.

This was the message that RJ had sent on 12/28/2021:
To bring added clarity and better understanding to delivery timing, in early 2022 we are introducing a new feature on your Rivian Account Page that will display your current delivery timing estimate. The information will be tailored specifically to you and the exact vehicle you configured. Our goal is to give you accurate, up-to-date details about your specific preorder so you can better plan and stay more informed.
As of today, I still haven't been able to get clariry.

Bottom Line:
I love the R1T product, but the company's communication continues to disappoint.

Early 2022 is a subjective measurement. We're not even out of Q1.

From your post history, it sounds to me like you should just go enjoy your Tesla and reduce the stress in your life.

Thanks Inkedsphynx (don't know your first name, as you haven't added it).

Yes, I agree 100% with you that "early" is subjective.
Just sharing my experience so far.

Definitely not stressed, more so disappointed in Rivian's communication specifically.

What exterior color/interior color have you configured? I would assume with a reservation date of November 2018 you will be up pretty soon, but wonder if the colors you selected is causing a delay. And I wouldn’t worry about the delivery timing estimate tool. I am guessing it won’t be up and running until after you get your truck.
