buuuuuuut, this is the type of sh!t that Rivian does that pisses off the many many pre-order holders of >2 years that continued to get bypassed on things

I live 4 hours from Normal, have a delivery window of July/Sept 2022 and still haven't got an invite for one of these. I was thinking about just driving over to Normal one day and see if someone can let me look around one. Anyone done that?

There's nothing open to the public currently in Normal. While I'm sure you'd find plenty of employee R1Ts in the parking lot, they may not appreciate you poking around.

We did get to see an R1T and an R1S at a Denver expose in the summer of 2019. They had the cars roped off. You could not sit in them. We also got to meet and talk to RJ and some of the engineers. I guess that will be the best we can do until we take delivery.

I live about 3 hours away and scheduled for March/April Delivery, no test drive or any kind of communication from rivian either..crickets...

That’s a couple thousand miles each way so it would take some planning to get away that long. Not ruling it out though. Thanks!

on edit: According to ABRP, 2,600 miles each way with 15 charge stops. I always love a good road trip! Kind of nuts but I’ve never been known for sanity. Going to have to sleep on it.
