I was told that it was coming and that you can go into the configurator for your vehicle and see the new price.

maybe this will annoy my wife enough thst I can order the cayman GTS “rivian placeholder“ I’ve been trying to sell her on. It’s much cheaper now!

The smart thing to do for their brand would have been to honor the pricing all pre-orders had on their configuration as of today and charge the new pricing for all that come after today. They must have made a calculated decision that bottom line matters more now than brand. Business is a contact sport.

Any chance there can be a social media campaign to try to get this done?

Just been informed that the base price of my LE R1T will increase from $73K to $85K That was during a phone call to a Customer Rep. and I was asking about the alleged new charge for the tonneau cover. If this is correct (which I still cannot believe) it is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE! Please let me know if any of you have received the same information.

With servers and software running the show, I just don't understand why (for the time being) my Configurator (without making any changes to it) remains unaffected by price changes. I know this must be a pipe-dream that will vaporize shortly but for now I can imagine that its exempt for some reason.

Here's the 'now' pricing for a non-LE R1S reserved only about two months ago. Although I also hold an R1T LE reservation made mid-2020.

I closed my browser, logged in & out at least 4 times, did all that again and still unchanged.... (for now)

Hmm. I didn't get ANY email on my 01/19 LE account, actually. The configuration shows higher price but no email. But my 2021 non LE did get the email.

All of a sudden a $70k ID.Buzz sounds like a GREAT deal.

I really don't see how they delay the quad/small battery to 2024...do they really think they will be able to max production through 2023 with orders for quad/large? I just don't see it.

According to @Diddy123 it looks like 2019 orders might have escaped the price hike.

God damn. I'm a July 2019 preorder holder with March/April delivery and no such luck.

"All LE" or "some LE" would have been defensible. "Those who got lucky and were contacted on time get to save $12k" is some bullshit. (Don't get me wrong, I'm happy you save the money. Just pretty wild to have the line be as arbitrary as when Rivian gets around to sending you paperwork.)
