What does this do to the lower control arms, half shafts, etc? Simply adding a spacer at the top suspension mounting point seems it’ll throw off the geometry/mechanics of the entire suspension system
This is the first question that needs to be answered. This is basically a spacer lift it if doesn’t reposition or replace the upper and lower control arms. It’ll put stress on the half shafts and other components. Even on something as basic as a Wrangler, you need to do a lift right or it’ll bite you in the ass.

Product page says they recommend alignment after installation.
EVERY suspension mod out there tells you this. When you alter the suspension, you’re altering the geometry which impacts camber, caster, and toe.

@EV Sportline does this kit allow for tires that have more sidewall on a similar diameter wheel?
This is the question. Larger tire probably isn’t needed for the increase in ground clearance (no “axle” you need to lift), but 35s would be sweet.

What's this do to the warranty?
I have questions about this as well. I know they have a relationship with Rivian as a partner, so I'd be interested to hear if there will be any sort of concession for suspension or driveline related issues for anyone in warranty who has this installed.

As much as I love the idea of this, it might be something that needs to wait until I'm out of warranty and ready to start going wild.

Guys, rest assured this kit is properly engineered, like every product we sell. Very carefully designed to provide the lift while acceptably managing suspension geometry within an envelope of limitations. While lifts are new to Rivian land they are far from new in general and we've been at it designing lifts & suspension components for decades prior to this (for other vehicles). I expect some folks may see this lift for the first time and think it is a new concept and start trying to opinionate on it, but trust it's not some radical or reckless new concept at all.

The R2 suspension geometry changes a small bit with the lift yes; but we're talking low single digit degrees/% changes - so a recommend realignment is all you need, and that is not overly critical honestly. Keep in mind, the R1 ride height changes significantly more than this (with the air suspension), and the net suspension geometry changes with the ride height. Also not much different than when you 'load your Rivian down' and the ride height drops, the suspension geometry changes as well.....there is no 'realigning' for every one of those ride height change.

There are multiple aspects that limit how much and how we can lift. I won't detail all those, but we've navigated this lift execution carefully and with specific intents - and keeping all the vehicle tech functioning properly. If we were chasing a 'several inches+' lift kit, it would require a much more invasive and substantially complex / expensive package.

This lift is meant to increase ground clearance and offer a more aggressive off-road stance.

As for warranty, federal law states that warranty cannot be denied 'in general' due to aftermarket parts. The only risk on that end is the same as the risk for any aftermarket part. If the lift directly caused a problem, that problem could be excluded from Rivian Warranty. Google the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act, this is nothing new and not exclusive to Rivian/.

For those in an R1, this should bring the ride height in R2 from being roughly equivalent to "Low" to "Standard" in the R1.

If I'm honest, this seems like an elaborate scheme by @EV Sportline to make me buy their fantastic running boards for R2 when I was thinking I wouldn't need them.

Excited to see the R2 aftermarket kick off here.

My understanding is most standard suspension systems tolerate up to a ~2" lift without any serious impact on the rest of the system so a 1.6" spacer sounds safe to me.

I also think 11/12" is the sweet spot for what you realistically need for anything you'd take the R2 on so this seems pretty practical to me. A small lift like this plus rock sliders (and ideally a sway bar disconnect) would make me comfortable driving the R2 basically anywhere.

What's this do to the warranty?
Gives Rivian a reason to not warranty driveline/suspension components that are affected by this change. I wouldn't put anything like this on your car without being willing to take that chance. I know people like to bring up Magnuson-Moss about modifications, but there's quite a few things that could go wrong here since it's operating outside of Rivian's engineering expectations.
