Continuing with the 'being first' tradition, I present to you the world's first R2 roof rack 😂

In all seriousness, here are some pics of the upcoming rack from ProSpeed for the R2. This is just a test fitment.

In case you want to know what the rack might look like on the truck.

Very Nice!!! Hmmm wondering about the aero and these gaps:

Prototype that was slapped together for photos. Probably only had vague measurements and were trying to be careful so it'd still actually fit on the car.

Looks great. I always appreciated how low-profile their R1 racks are. Nice to see that design philosophy carry over to R2.

So far no issues with the efficiency. But this is an early prototype (for fitment etc). I'll pass along your gap concerns. Thanks!
I can't imagine this wont impact efficiency and range. Especially since that rear spoiler is integrated and flush into the roofline.

Yes, of course there will be some hits. It's nothing that bothers me personally, I should say.

As for the gap concerns, one can purchase a gasket to cover most of it. Prospeed sells them on their website. User @k3g came up with a solution using a gasket from McMaster. Both links shared below.

I don't have a R2, but I have Prospeed's rack on my R1S. No issues on my end with the product. I haven't noticed any significant range penalties that cause any anxieties or alarms. There is a little bit of wind noise, but that's expected when something is bolted to the top of the roof. The wind noise is barely noticeable and I can still have conversations with my kids. Hopefully the same if not better experience with the R2 application.

For reference, below is my R1S thread:
