What is the point of this picture? Showing a G-Wagon that has less ground clearance than an R2? Trying to flex to strangers on the internet? Confusing.
A sad attempt to impress. You gotta know your audience doc. 😉

Other people in the showroom were struggling with getting the frunk to close. Seems like people were afraid to slam it. If you close it the same way you'd close a traditional hood, it works fine. Just make sure your fingers aren't in the way when it closes the rest of the way on its own.
You aren't supposed to slam the frunk. While it doesn't have auto close like the rear hatch, if you manually close the frunk down, there is an auto soft close to fully secure it closed.

I'll share my feedback on my test I shared in some other thread already:

I had a chance to sit in the R2 under direct sun. It was 68°F outside, and the AC was working okay, but I could not make it work as hard as in my ICE car. Maybe this could be changed in some setting, but I could not figure it out because the UI is pretty complex.

The biggest issue, though, is the heat coming from the glass roof. You feel comfortable below your head, but the top of your head gets pretty warm. In addition to the heat, the sunlight is also too bright, and the factory tint is not dark enough to block it, especially in the back seat.

I’m 6 ft tall, so my head is pretty close to the roof.

Also, the sun can blast straight into your eyes through the roof in the back seat, so you may need to wear a hat.

It also looks awful when the roof is dirty, although the dirt does help block some sunlight.
And noticed lots of deep scratches on wheel wells in trunk , was a bit surprised to see this on a new demo car

Oh forgot to add:

The turn signal sound in the R2 is ridiculous. I thought the R1 sound was bad, but the R2 sound is just so... gross. It sounds like someone filled a zip top bag with pudding and hit it with paint stirring stick. It's a "thwack" sound with a wet squelchy finish. Laughably terrible. 0/10

I felt same way regarding the R2 turn signal sound. The customer service person said that many people noted the same and also she said the R1 had similar negative feedback on the turn signal noise. Hopefully they will push an update if enough negative feedback on the turn signal sound.

Alot of software updates coming in next update per Rivian team. The blinker sound is one of them.

I drove an R2 today at the King of Prussia space today. They have one inside the mall as well. Before my drive I sat in the one inside, played with all the controls, and was very impressed. I almost didn't need the drive, but I'm glad I did it. I think the suspension is way smoother than the R1S for everyday driving. It also doesn't really feel much smaller on the inside than my old R1S, the trunk space is where I noticed it, but the passenger compartment feels great. Sound system was perfectly fine to me, is there a sub under the dash? I also really liked the halo wheels worked, they'll be really cool and are no more sensitive than the scroll wheels on my old Tesla Model Y.

The seat did feel a bit awkward on my back, the top piece above the trim seam was set slightly further back and I could feel it. It gave the impression of something pushing on my back just below my shoulder blades. My wife's old Cherokee had this issue, she never noticed it. Hopefully that will not be the case with all seats, or it just wears in. The R2 I drove had 1500 miles on it.

I am very excited to get my VIN!

This has been a pretty frequent comment from others, mostly larger taller males.

I am 6 ft tall, glad I'm not the only one, but worried that the seat actually does suck.

Overall the seats are fine, and decent enough quality.. no, they are not as material rich and comfortable as in the R1s.. at least not from my limited time in both cars. But for a vehicle that is arguably half the price of the R1S, the quality is going to take a bit of a hit.

The side bolster is good, and not too obtrusive even for larger drivers. Decent support, decent adjustments, but that seam in the mid upper back for a taller frame might be a thing.

I brought it up early June when we did the first test drives. My thinking is it MIGHT need a small foam insert, the sort of smoothes over the ridge that the seam creates. I could fabricate something pretty easily. It would then be much less noticeable at least.

Won’t know till we spend more time in it, hopefully late Aug/Early Sept.

Me too! I'm going to schedule another test drive (if that's allowed) and be sure to check a few things that have come up, like the seat. I'm 6' and didn't notice it on the test drive, but I'm going to double-check. I've had two cars recently whose fatal flaw was the seat (Genesis G70 and 2024 BMW x3 30i - both are, or will be, gone. In those two cases, it took an hour or so before you noticed how bad they were). I can't deal with another, but I do want the R2, so fingers crossed.

For those that have done a test drive, here's a stupid question: what time of day are they loading the daily slots? I've checked several dozen times and I've yet to get it to show me anything other than "check back soon".

I had no luck in the Seattle area until I got the invitation to order. Then it was easy.

I've heard that if you show up in person they can schedule you...but you have to drive there twice, and that may vary by location.

That is unfortunate, as I'm in Spokane. Maybe I will have to wait until my invite comes, or I just won't get a test drive...

Not sure what the actual times are but in SoCal when I scheduled my test drive there were slots between 9 and 4
