Was this before or after the preproduction email? I got the preproduction email today. Placed my order yesterday.

I got the initial preproduction email when I ordered on 6/16. Then this one today.

This is interesting based on the geographic trends that might be occurring based on the limited data points. Seems to me, for the west coast, Rivian might be using Union Pacific given their presence in the Midwest and West. Which begs the question of why aren't there more Colorado VIN assignments at this point? One would think, given the major rail yard in Denver that handles a significant amount of rail traffic going between the mid-west and west coast. Would seem an easy process disconnect rail cars loaded with Colorado delivers to be put on trucks for final delivery to the DC.

Kansas City is a much bigger hub for the UP than Denver is. (No shade throwing here.) And I suspect a lot of traffic to Southern California is going to go South first and across Texas to California to avoid more Northern Routes.

Can't wait for the numbers to be statistically significant!

True. If things are going into production based on logistics, it would stand that perhaps there will be a batch of VINS for CO, UT, OR, and WA. Given the UP multimodal facilities along the UP rail lines.

I got the order invite & order confirmation on June 16 and received the invite to begin the purchase process last night.

It has been 11 days since I was assigned a VIN and no status change or scheduled delivery date. Starting to think my car had a problem they had to address post production.

approx 3 weeks after order confirmation to start the purchase process; is this where you received your VIN and did the 4-8 weeks timeline change at all, so are you 3 weeks into the 4-8 weeks?
I ordered and received my confirmation on 3 July.

I just got the VIN as I started the purchase process steps. So far I've seen no timeline other than Rivian Assistant's "2-6" weeks

for timeline help with others, I received my purchase invite 6/16, Converted my order 6/23, received a vin 6/29 (opened up purchase process, we submitted everything including finances that day), received a pickup appointment 7/4 for a pickup date of 7/20. So in total about 4 weeks from when I committed the order to delivery (Hopefully!)

White r2 launch edition, Rocklin CA service center pickup. We own(ed) 2 Rivian's, a 23 R1T quad, and a 25 R1S standard dual (we sold this to Carvana on 6/30 though).

I had a similar timeline. Invite on 6/16, order on 6/16. Received VIN # immediately. Delivery scheduled immediately for this Friday 7/10 at the service center in Tempe, AZ. Catalina Cove, 20” wheels, Launch Package.
I own a Gen 2 R1S Quad and traded a Gen 1 R1S Quad to Rivian. I also own stock in Rivian, if that matters, and participated in the IPO (sold the stock in 2 days at a nice profit and have been buying shares since it bottomed out). Hope this helps!

Happened to see a truck of Rivian’s parked on my way to work in South Jersey with 2 R2s on it (one Catalina was up top in the front as well, not pictured here)!

Not sure if it’s heading to Trenton or to NYC since the Turnpike is close but a fun way to start the day. Hope they’re going to someone on the board!

I received an invite on 6/16, didn't order until 6/24 due to travel. Other than the generic communication everyone has received, haven't had any additional updates.

AZ, Catalina Cove, 20" AT. I did order a few accessories with it, but I'm assuming that shouldn't impact delivery as they can be provided/shipped separately.

Nothing since (2x emails came saying the vehicle was still in pre-production and no vin has been assigned yet).

Still within the 4-8 week window being on Week 3, but it worries me that no Vin has been given yet.

I am in the exact same boat. Ordered on the 17th and radio silence, outside two pre-production emails, since.
