And why they slowed deliveries though they have inventory parked outside the factory.
They could be waiting for parts. It's well documented that Ford and other manufacturers have thousands of vehicles built, waiting for parts.

****PSA****For anyone moving forward with your order, or making jokes saying, "awesome, now I'll jump up in line":

1) Yes, Rivian screwing over it's most loyal customer base is a 'first world problem', but many of your peers have been daydreaming about this truck for years. Be respectful. Not everyone has unlimited funds, and perhaps has been budgeting a (ballpark) price for many years to make this purchase come true for their family.

2) If you move forward with your pre-order, despite being bent over by Rivian (repeatedly), you'll be somewhat of a scab crossing the picket line. While you're driving your Rivian all high and mighty, you'll have many groups of people snickering at you. Anyone who wanted a Rivian will know you're a scab. And anyone who watches the news will know money means little to you. I wouldn't want to be the one guy in a parking lot with a brand new Rivian - that's just me. A stigma has not been created. Good luck getting over that hump, Rivian...
Yea, no, your number 2 point is ridiculous. Either way, lucky for me I don't give half a rats ass what anyone else thinks about me. I suggest all of you adopt the same mentality. Requiring external validation for your life's choices is not a healthy mental state.

Some of you can move up one spot on the list. I will be bailing out just like the share holders. There will likely be many more price increases before they actually start building mine. So much for being an early Rivian customer. Adios
And there goes the stock price. Who here legitimately thinks this will be the last increase before you see yours in your driveway. It was a great looking, well designed truck but the lack of transparency and communication with customers that put down money was the last straw for me. I will wait and buy something when they are ready to "buy and drive"

If it doesn’t come up during their quarterly presentation, it will be asked in the Q&A.

You're entitled to your opinion! I bet you love it when I say that, don't ya... ?

The point is this truck now has a stinky stigma. If you don't mind that, enjoy your Rivian, Sir.

The stigma is only in existence for current pre-order holders. Joe Blow who hasn't even HEARD of Rivian right now isn't going to even be aware of what just happened to us when he sees my R1T in a parking lot.

As for it being an expensive vehicle, it's not that much more than my Defender was and nobody looks sideways at that. I just don't see this being a reason someone's going to look at me like I'm some piece of garbage. If you want to act that way, by all means, go for it. Shitty way to live your life and treat others.

Long time reservation holder here... December 2018. Just canceled my reservation and this will be my last post. I have not been very active on the forum as of late as my interest in Rivian has been decreasing more and more ever since they missed targets last Summer. I had actually decided to change my reservation from R1T to R1S and had a delivery window April-May this year but with the news yesterday I just decided to cancel. I really can't plan anything around this brand as they apparently do not have their shit together. It appears to me that this is a company run by a bunch of Engineers instead of business people. I am sure they have a great product but they have no idea when it comes to running a business. Its the reason I opted out of buying their stock when offered. Their marketing has been horrible- their customer service has been horrible- and their ability to produce this product has been a disaster. And they want to open another factory.... Give me a break. I opted out of canceling my order yesterday to take my emotion out of it and think things through. But its going to be the same old story. There are going to be more delays and more delays because they just don't know anything about full scale production. And everyone thinking they are going to just be moving up in the imaginary preorder line good luck with that.

This attempt to raise pricing in the manner they did is a signal that their back is against the wall. I think everyone knew in the back of their mind it was coming but thought at least they would honor their pricing to their early preorder holders in the same manner they offered stock during the IPO. But they are not and my reservation went from 80k to 96k. I am not going to pay over a 100k for vehicle I haven't had a chance to test drive, view the interior, view exterior colors, etc. And lets face it this is a 2018 truck and SUV and in two more years time technology and options will blow this model away. Rivian may be ready at some point but I think they have a long way to go. I however, am done with this brand and will not be interested in any of their future vehicles. Like I told their customer service in a nice email.... Peace out Forever!

Someone please tell me why I had to find this out from an email thru the forum instead of thru Rivian. What an eye opener to read a thread and THEN go over to my configurator for my evening slap in the face. Customer loyalty and service will be Rivian's ball and chain. I am very curious what is said on March 10th to sweep this under the rug

"If you think this country is better off now than it was in 2020, you better put down that crack pipe."

First off, I was responding to someone who made a statement saying the people on here voted for this. It's implying the current administration is somehow responsible for Rivian raising pricing. That was followed up with a "Go Brandon" message [roll eyes]. Like that isn't inflammatory.

I think our democracy survived a bit longer because the guy who looks like he walked straight out of a soprano's episode lost. In that regard I do think the country is better off.

While this is not the place to debate politics I will have you note that the things I put down were all things "45" either said or was tied to and not taken out of context.

You can carry this on further, I won't.

Yes, you should absolutely expect that.

Land Rover and Ram didn't pull a bait and switch on folks who waited 3+ years.
Are people on this board actually threatening other members with harassment and/or damage to their Rivian if they go ahead with a purchase? What bizarroworld are you living in? If you want to hate on Rivian, that’s fine (and well-deserved right now), but threatening Rivian *customers* with harassment is another level of crazy.

Hmmmm... Get another LWB Range Rover or wait another couple of years for the extended range R1S... both ~ $110k. The rangie at least can drive for 4 hours before needing to refuel. I', keeping my reservation (made March 2020) but am increasingly looking for better alternatives to the R1S. I was a huge fan but as they kept pushing back the longest range version of the R1S.... until they pushed out my build by a couple of years, got rid of the 5 seat option, and boosted the price by 23%

No threats, just predictions. Humans can be terrible.

I'm still on the fence about staying, and this is definitely a factor in my consideration.

Dude, you will still qualify for the tax credit, there is no price cap.
And of course the problem is that there is no way to no there will not be a cap when the vehicle is delivered. Any "informed" guess is impacted by Rivian's delivery estimate (at this point a guess) and congressional (in) action.

I don't. But:
A. I have used Carplay forever, hate it and would love an elegant native solution
B. Looking at other vehicles priced at the same or higher, the Rivian is still better/cheaper for me
C. I have only paid $1000 and can cancel anytime and receive my $1000 back
D. I have understood what is means to be in business with a startup having started and been in a few, so my expectations were set having seen the chaos first hand a few times scaling and getting to market.

I get people are upset, no one likes surprises or price increases....

That’s the guy that excuses every single poor decision Rivian has made. Probably works for them.
