That guy is the best. Allowing all of us to live vicariously through his early R1T experience. Drift mode appears to drive exactly like my Tacoma in 2WD mode. Also, that is the quietest drifting I have ever seen/ heard….:lipssealed:

They've got a lot of sbow testing with the recent storms that have hot Normal. My cousin said her husband's truck had no problem driving through their unplowed street. I think they got 6-8" of snow.

There were times when I thought he was going to drift right into the camera, or at least give it a good spray of snow! :). Good Job @Iwantatesla

I should mention… I totally forgot to toggle stability mode off… maybe that would be a full defeat

It's really interesting watching the individual tires speeds while you're doing donuts. You can see it testing the limits of traction on the individual tires. Not your normal burnout-style donut!

I can't be the only person thinking that the location in the video would have been ideal for a tank turn.

I mentioned that in another thread, or on Facebook. But yeah, if you're used to seeing all the wheels mechanically locked, it's really odd seeing everything turning at different speeds. Assuming we ever get ice on Georgetown Lake again of sufficient thickness and quality, I'll have fun trying some ice racing one of these days with a Rivian.

all I could see in that video was a HUGE concrete wall and the constant fear of back-stepping right into it with a R1T. Of all the places to try out Drift mode in snow right next to a solid wall of concrete is way down near the bottom of my list of choices. o_O

You missed the take-away then! The driving dynamics of the R1T are so assuredly planted, that he has no fear of any walls. The torque vectoring allowed by the 4-motor setup is here, to turn any budding driving enthusiast into the next Ken Block.
