I love my R1T but I hate the turn signal. It's either too sensitive and stays on when I'm just changing lanes or it shuts off when I'm making a turn. I've never noticed a turn signal on any car I've ever owned and this turn signal is driving me crazy!

There's a halfway click and a full click. Full click is for turning, half click is for lane changes. If you need more than 3 blinks for a lane change, half click again.

Rivian is trying to do magic stuff to make it go off after a lane change when you do a full click, but you don't need to do a full click if the car is not driving and doing the lane changes itself.

I think that's true for every vehicle I've ever driven but I've been driving for almost 40 years and I've never had an issue with learning the nuances of a turn signal.

The manual turn signal function works like every other car I’ve owned with the exception when using the full click you can halfway click in the same direction to cancel. My signals turn off after making a turn.

When on the highway only, full clicks turn off automatically after completing a lane change. I wish that would be the case off highways as well.

This is why the R2 has a second glovebox. It's where I keep my semaphore flags so I don't have to use signal stalk.
I've already misplaced stuff by putting it in the middle glovebox :(

You're driving yourself crazy by refusing to adapt to a different car with a different but not unique way of doing things. Which is more productive? adapt or keep complaining?

The turn signal is irritating one or two times out of 5. That's not a great rate for a device which, as OP stated, has never been a issue for me in decades of driving.
I don't know when the full-pull started auto shutting off, but it is inconsistent and leads to opposite signaling and re-signaling too often.
I expect @UnsungZero_OldTimeAdMan to tell me I should keep adapting, but there comes a point where it should just be intuitive... As it has always been.
Anyways, 1st world problems😅.

I, too, have difficulty modulating the turn signal and frequently do the full click when meaning to do just a half click. Someone recently posted that if you accidentally do a full click, a second full click in the same direction will turn it off.

This works well for me.

I agree with the views that the turn signals are frustrating. I know people are mentioning "clicks" but there are none on my R1S. I'm constantly over adjusting as there doesn't seem to be good feedback on how far to go.....

I believe the auto-shut off for the full-pull of the turn signal is only when you are on a highway. And it can be turned on or off in the vehicle's settings.

It only seems to do it on *SOME* highways, for some reason, and I cannot figure out what determines whether the current highway is cool enough for this feature or not, unless maybe there's just something wrong with my particular R1S...
