The turn signal is irritating one or two times out of 5. That's not a great rate for a device which, as OP stated, has never been a issue for me in decades of driving.
I don't know when the full-pull started auto shutting off, but it is inconsistent and leads to opposite signaling and re-signaling too often.
I expect @UnsungZero_OldTimeAdMan to tell me I should keep adapting, but there comes a point where it should just be intuitive... As it has always been.
Anyways, 1st world problems😅.
Yeah, there doesn't appear to be a real easy to find "neutral" position on the signal stalks which leads to the opposite signalling and ping-ponging.

I believe the auto-shut off for the full-pull of the turn signal is only when you are on a highway. And it can be turned on or off in the vehicle's settings.
It only seems to do it on *SOME* highways, for some reason, and I cannot figure out what determines whether the current highway is cool enough for this feature or not, unless maybe there's just something wrong with my particular R1S...
I'm pretty sure it's tied to Driver+ for Gen 1 at least. So if the road is Driver+ mapped it works (divided and access controlled highway), otherwise not.

I agree with the views that the turn signals are frustrating. I know people are mentioning "clicks" but there are none on my R1S. I'm constantly over adjusting as there doesn't seem to be good feedback on how far to go.....
Impossible. It’s a two stage switch just like the power window switches. Visit your local service center for assistance.

I absolutely agree, I've been driving for 45 yrs, dozens of different vehicles/makes, never been an issue before. Why is our R1T so hard to adjust too?

The signal auto shut off only works on highways. Perhaps this is the inconsistency you’re experiencing?

I can use highway assist on all the major routes I drive around my local part of the city; they are technically mapped 'highways', as far as rivian in concerned.
So, much of my traffic commute and local errands are along these thoroughfares. Must be the reason I'm affected more than most.
I will see if the feature can be turned off, as mentioned by @VandalSibs
With the exception of this one minor irritation, my 99.5% experience in daily drive is flawless, intuitive and high performance.
Incredible vehicle, I just want to emphasize, lol.

I finally have something to ask Rivian Assistant and she's offline!

Outside of the auto shut off mentioned here, these stalks work just like the ones on BMWs used to, prior to the G Series chassis codes (my F25 X3 and F15 X5 had these type of signals). So they weren’t a huge learning curve for me, but they aren’t exactly intuitive.

You haven't been driving long enough; I've been driving 49 years, and no adjustment problems here. Give it another four years or so.
