Got mine too. Nothing earth shattering like last week's initial price bomb, but nice to get continued reassurance.

Does this mean Rivian is going to be communicating more?

Yep, that means if you didn’t have an option selected you will pay the higher price for that option if you add it.

I think that is fair with all things considered.
Well speak for yourself, I am sure there are some who have a LE configured for instance that may have been waiting to decide on a Max Pack. Or someone who hasn’t seen one who isn’t sure about color interior or exterior.

Apparently based on the email that's their intent, we'll see how that works out for them.

Interesting, I configured mine the day the configurator was released and have never changed it…. Appears I must be in the minority here.
I wouldn’t be upset with my current config, but I was planning to change it literally last Tuesday and then saw the email about the hike.

I currently have Forest Edge, and I’m not sure I want to keep that. The renders are top green for my taste, but some of the in person reports sound promising.

Interesting.

On the one hand I can understand not giving everyone a bonanza of “add all the options at a (now) 20% discount”.

But on the other hand let us change something that has no real cost to Rivian, i.e. paint color.

Hard to draw that line though.

I am personally ok with it because the only change I'd make is if I dropped the black wheels and went with the free ones. I don't have any plans of adding other stuff.

But, I know others are far less locked in on what their final config would be.

Not sure I love the wording of that 3rd bullet point, considering some CS reps have been saying we’ll be able to change config and keep old pricing. Still some details to work out. I’ll be patient until we get a definitive answer.
Oh yeah, I read the third bullet and said, "the forums gonna be hot tonight!" Wife's been interested in the blue (the Rivian will be "hers"), but I like the forest green. This would make convincing her to stay with green that much easier.

With our delivery window in 2023, we weren’t too worried about our config at this point. Personally, there are 4 different exterior colors we’re debating, and we’ve yet to actually see any of them in-person (even not on an R1T). I was hoping once I started to see them out in the wild, we’d then make a final decision.

Check again as I just received the email as well.
Still didn't get it, which is kinda odd. I'll have to chat with CS about it tomorrow. I didn't cancel my reservations, so nothing changed. No guide contact, yet.

Glad I took my best shot at my final configuration a month ago.

It would still be nice to see color samples before being locked into color, though.

Hopefully I can add $300 tow hooks —that’s one nice a la cart option.

I hadn't finalized my selection especially when there was no deadline to finish the final configuration given that I have a R1S order with no ETA yet.

An artificial deadline has been cooked up by Rivian due to the price bomb last week. It's not fair for only my selected draft options to be honored and anything else I do will be with the new price.

Just when you trusted them to make things right , they continue to surprise you.

The only analogy that comes to my mind and it's brutal......it's like Kramer or Costanza in Seinfeld. They never cease to amaze me ??.

My trust levels on Rivian just nose-dived and it's going to take a lot to build it up.

I would caution patience before working ourselves up over that language. It might be nothing big. I’m just watching closely.

I suspect they meant actual options. Like the camp kitchen.

Hopefully color choices don't fall in that category for folks.

But even then, taking on the price adjustments for paint and the accessories doesn't seem particularly absurd given we are saving (at least) 12k.

Guess if I drop my under armor protection (and get the tow hooks) I'll save $$ that I can spend on a paint change...

I agree, paint and interior should be eligible to change.

Curious if they will only allow the 3/1 config, or ANY previous config? I’m pretty sure at one point I had every option.
Per the email: " your preorder will revert to what it was as of February 28, 2022. " So it sounds like that's the last-known config we'll have to roll with.

I'm divided on how to feel about this. On the one hand I agree that it's unreasonable to expect us to have that be our final build, when the majority of us haven't seen these things in person. On the other, the extra cost might not be that prohibitive, except for paint and interior colors. For example, if you were flitting back and forth between LA Silver/Black Mountain and Glacier White/Ocean Coast and left your config on the former, the latter will now cost you $3,750.
