What is the UI like for the BT phone in terms of contacts? Can Alexa choose one or we looking at a screen and swiping while driving?

Phone UI is OK. I think Alexa can call, I haven't tried yet.

How is handling really?? What is your baseline of the best handling car you've ever had and how does it compare?

In Sport Stiff, it handles better than any car I've had. 2010 Camaro SS for reference.

Only the phone is proximity. Don't feel bad asking; my delivery person didn't know either!

You guys are doing God's work! I have one request. Any chance you can post a picture from the driver's seat looking out to show how much hood is visible to the driver? I'm trying to assess visibility vs the C-MAX hybrid we currently have that has a ton of visibility because of the way the front end curves down.

Owners, I would love to hear some feedback on R1T fit and finish. Specifically panel alignment, gaps between body panels, paint application and squeaks and rattles.

I‘m asking because I have pretty high expectations on a $80k vehicle.

Surprising given that it won’t lock the door with the fob in the car.

I feel this was done on purpose, but I agree it should be. My 2015 Sienna is proximity.

As far as locking the fob in, I put it there to make a point, but the behavior is the same without a key in the vehicle. I just checked.

It is a little annoying that it seems like I have to turn my phone screen on to get it to first unlock the vehicle (don't have to unlock the phone, can just tap the wake button while it's still in my pocket).

The problem might be due to your phone being in a standby or power saver mode, and the bluetooth only waking once the screen is on.

I wonder if it was a sort of timeout safety feature—if you lock the door from the inside then shut it, maybe it keeps the driver's door unlocked for 30-60 seconds to give you a chance if you made a mistake?

I don't really mind if it never lets you lock the door that way, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I'm also interested in the ability to access 12v power, not the cigarette plug. I'll want to install a ham radio in mine when I get it for off-road comms. Likewise, power tap near the rearview mirror for a radar detector and/or dashcam. Though I hope the truck is capable of recording its own dashcam footage at some point.

Glad to hear you can turn off the heat/cool functionality and only use vent. My Chevy Spark EV had this, but my MINI EV does not, so I have to remember to turn off the HVAC if I open the windows.

Did you verify the location services is set to always for the Rivian app? That is required for Tesla.

I wish my test drive had more pavement, mostly off road.

The best handling car I owned was an 87 vette until I bought the Tesla Model S, it does almost everything better and faster than the vette which is crazy for a 4 door sedan. Top speed was the only thing it did not beat.

I can’t wait to test the R1S when I get it, what little I could do on the test drive of the R1T it seemed to rival my brother in laws 09 ZR1.

Also, does it have a "Camp" style mode? I know, not the most practical in the T.
