Sorry for asking again but I could not find the answer. I’d be very surprised if it still hasn’t rained in Seattle.
Stays dry in the rain unless you open the tonneau with standing water on top. Then it's a squeegee that deposits all the water from on top right into the bed.

So, my Buyers agreement on step 6 shows mileage as 100. Whose already been joyriding my Rivian? ?. Or is this just a nice round number to include driving to my home etc if it’s not delivered on a flatbed?
Yeah, it's not clear, but what they're saying is that it will have fewer than 100 miles on the odometer when they deliver it to you. It will probably have some miles on it though. Most people seem to have about 30 miles on the odometer by the time the delivery process is complete. But that's where the 100 miles come in: Your ride will have fewer than 100 miles on the odometer when you get the keys.

oh boy, commenting in hopes that I remember this the first time I go camping with it… maybe the aftermarket will create a bed-width squeegee to use before opening ?

Anyone noticing if the R1T leaves larger ruts than normal? I'm a little worried about the weight of this thing in mud or soft ground.
I've driven all sorts of off-road vehicles, and the lighter vehicles consistently outperform when in soft ground.

A 7000lb vehicle will sink deeper into soft ground than a 4000lb one, all other things being equal.

Yeah it creates YUGE potholes. I don't think you should get it. It's okay, I'll take your preorder off your hands at cost. If you already have one delivered, I'll give you 90 cents on the dollar ?

Have any of you tried to park in the city? How do you feel about the length of R1T?

Although I have driven longer and larger vehicles, I have never owned one this long. When I look at a Chevy Traverse up close, it’s length and wheel base look significant. R1T numbers are even larger. How do you feel about living with it day to day?

Also I appreciate a report of how durable the grin factor of ownership is as time goes by

It's big. Squeezing into tight garages or street parking in dense neighborhoods is why we're keeping the ID.4.

Plenty of areas I'd be fine parking the R1T in most cities. Then again, I'm the yahoo who street parked our 22.5' Sprinter in SF and Manhattan.

I didn't see this in the thread, so apologies if I missed it...

Have any of you tried using Alexa to play a music service other than Spotify that you've linked to your Alexa account? Say the SiriusXM skill or the Apple Music skill?

I was wondering if folks could get around having to use your phone for streaming music from alternative sources (partial mitigation for lacking Apple Play / Android Auto). Alexa has built-in skills for accessing Apple Music and other services that works on the Echo devices.

you could get away with it on Apple Music - it does pull up a playlist and displays it on screen.

I tried pandora on it as well it isn’t as robust.

I got mine, but has anyone found a use for the right buttons on the steering wheel? I feel they do nothing except adjust the right mirror.
