I'm happy for you ! I'm hoping to pickup at the factory as well. I only live an hour away.

But I sure don't understand why people with preorder dates in 2019 and 2020 get deliveries before some of us who ordered in 2018 ?! I have the same configuration after my guide asked if I would change to BM interior. I'm still waiting for the PBA and it's been 2 weeks since I had the call with my guide. I checked in with him and he said the PBA would be sent when they assign a VIN to me. It makes no sense how they determine who gets delivery. The preorder date seems to mean very little to them.
I wonder how much of a factor initial configuration date, rather than deposit date is. Since the configurator wasn‘t available until nov. 2020.

It isn't rocket science. The main goal is max # of vehicles delivered by 3/31.

They have trucks built in batches. Certain batches got shipped west. Guides went down the list matching orders to vehicles.

We are now too close to 3/31 to ship across country, so the guides are going down the order list for people in range of factory delivery.

I'm also assuming the list is off your 2/28 config.

Am I missing anything? Anything not clear?
To add on, I would prioritize BM then OC preorder holders.

Assuming people with FE are more attached to the interior since it is an additional cost, and an FE switch to BM loses money.

I've been wondering if they aren't sorting by original preorder date, but by the date the vehicle was first configured.

I could see the database being set up so the "order" model is stored in a different location from the original "preorder" model, and when they unlocked the configurator, it created a new row for each vehicle at that time. It's linked to the preorder, but it's likely the system is processing orders based on who played with the configurator first.

In the worst case, it's possible they don't even have the original preorder dates anymore.

This is all rampant speculation, but I feel like something like this is the only way they can have orders with such a wide range of dates.

I was on the configurator as soon as it was available. I have been following Rivian since before the LA Auto Show. I read the forums everyday to stay informed (maybe that fuels my impatience). I thought I was doing everything possible to be one of the earliest deliveries. I understand they are trying to deliver as many as possible with what they have available. My configuration is what they are making and delivering. I live near the factory, so I can save them money by picking it up at the factory.

I'm sure there's a method to the madness, but it sure doesn't make sense looking at it from the outside.

Maybe I just need to let it go and take a deep breath ?. I'm sure once I get it, all of this angst will be forgotten. I have another 5 weeks left in my delivery window.

Wow. I wonder if they're so delivery constrained that they just shipped a bunch of trucks all over the place, and folks in areas with fewer orders moved up in delivery windows. And people in areas with a lot more orders may be transport limited.

I mean, you're really in Canada. They meant to set your delivery window to July-Sept. ?
Did my accent come through on the last post eh?

Yeah who knows. We did just recently switch to Black Mountain from Ocean Coast. We are willing to wait 4-6 weeks for OC but not 4-6 months.

We have a second reservation pre March 1 and I have a feeling these trucks will hold value so we can switch to OC then.

February 2019, R1T, Denver. No guide assigned, no chance to test drive (despite several attempts to reach out to get on the list), no communication other than the general emails everyone gets. ?

To be honest, I am trying just not to worry about it at this point. I was getting a bit worked up a few weeks back when it seemed I was on an island, but seeing others in my same boat on the forums was comforting in a way. If I still haven't heard a peep in the next couple weeks, I will try reaching out again.

Yeah that's why I asked. I suspect there are a bunch of folks out there still waiting thinking they are all the last person waiting.

Seven days until March 1st. I was told I would be able to get my wall charger early. Not a peep from. Has anyone with the March-April window heard from Rivian? I am at 3 years since deposit tomorrow (2/23/2019). seems like it's time to get my truck. Venting and curious.

J
I was just contacted yesterday afternoon. I have a call Monday.
