Not sure if asked before: too many pages to read right now.
But, when you shift into reverse, does birds eye come on automatically? And when you change from reverse to drive, does it keep Birdseye, but just facing forward.
The Bolt does this Birdseye full time no matter the speed, and then going forward till you hit 5 mph.
You have to have camera view on the screen to see them. I believe if camera view was last view before you parked, it’ll appear when you come back. It’s not automatic (at least not yet). Birds eye can be switched with front or rear view.

I didn't find this in any search, so I will ask...

Does there appear to be any mounting locations between the wheels for side steps? My wife is pretty short and she uses them all the time to get into my current truck. Plus they are a great parking lot dorr ding saver. ;)
There are pictures floating around of a prototype with rock sliders/running boards.

FWIW my wife is 5’2” on a tall day, had no problem getting in with suspension on low.

Can you turn off / freeze the screen to clean it while the car is in use?

It does show the rear camera automatically in reverse.

Will it show the birds eye view automatically when shifting to reverse, or just the default rear/side views?

Totally get that, but I'm thinking this is more of a navigation/mapping issue. When I enter my address to set as "Home", the map sets that location about 3 houses down from my actual location. So when I'm physically parked at home, I'm not "Home" according to the Rivian map (which I guess is supposed to integrate with the Gear Gaurd app).

I would think it should be easy to have a choice to set your current location as "Home", "Work", or any other place you frequent. Maybe there is and I just don't see it?
Maybe not the best option but might help your Gear Guard issue - have you tried setting your "Home" address as three houses further past yours? Sounds like the mapping software is just a bit "off" in your area and could be fixed in future OTA update. You'll know it has been resolved when your "Home" moves three houses the other way... :)

You ever tip a car salesperson, or the service advisor at a dealership?

Well, no....but they are driving the vehicle 4.5 hours south on the most boring highway in Texas. :CWL:

Hopefully they’re getting paid for their time ?

Mine will either come 8 hours from Minnesota or 13 from Alberta, unless a service centre pops up here. Maybe I feed them lunch.

I had this debate especially since she seemed to "linger" during the end of the delivery process. Ultimately i didn't tip, my wife and parents said no tip was needed.
