I'm not surprised CO is a hot spot for Rivian. Someday after they release lower priced options they might proliferate like Subarus around here....

I might head down there Thursday and check out the inventory. Last time I went by there was just 3 employee trucks there, which was still cool but....
I hoping to do the same thing this weekend. Does anyone know the hours of the SC? Wonder if I could get lucky enough to sit in one.

If they have hours posted I have never seen them. Hell, the address doesn't even come up publicly when you search. I had to search the forums to find it when I visited last time. I would assume right now they are just a Mon-Fri operation but who knows...

Had my test drive today. Amazing. I think everyone's questions have been answered, but I'm happy to try and answer anything anyone wants to ask.
Let me ask a question I already think I know the answer to...
Did you see any R1S at the service center?
Thanks for your observations and general impressions!

I'm planning on visiting Saturday. Hoping to see R1T in person for the first time. With any luck FG is on the lot.

When I was there last Saturday, they had one FG inside the fence. Couldn't get close but could still see and appreciate the color. All the Rivian employees were SUPER nice - very easy to talk with and answered lots of questions. Still didn't get to get in one but, since it was my first time to actually see the truck in person, I very much enjoyed it. Can't wait for a drive opportunity!

Still hoping to catch sight of a Compass Yellow! That seems to be the least popular color but my favorite. It's either that or the Blue - less likely to pass myself often with the Yellow. LOTS of the LE Green on the lot (as expected).

Finally set for delivery next Monday afternoon. What's hard to understand, however, is I'm 120 miles away from the Service Center in Denver, and offered to drive my trade-in (2012 Fisker Karma) down to save them the trip, yet they said no. I told them the last 3 miles of their trip climbs over 1,000 feet from the valley floor, and it's pretty difficult for anyone pulling a trailer, but they insisted. Don't get me wrong, I'm more than happy to not have to drive to Denver (it's always a hassle), but it just seems illogical to me from a logistics standpoint. Perhaps it's a staffing issue, or maybe they're delivering more than one up here in the mountains on Monday. Either way, of course, I can't wait!

Until they have their dealer license for that location I don’t think they are technically allowed to let people pick up their vehicles there. And I assume most trade ins never go through the service center at all. They probably go straight to a reseller.

Also, congratulations!

First, congratulations on your pending delivery!
How did you like your Karma?
Finally, the most important question, after you make the final payment on your R1T, does your forum name change to "PoorerDick?" ?

I've had my Fisker Karma since the first (and only) batch came out in early 2012. I've only driven her during the summer, and have loved every moment, but 10 years is a long time to keep a car, hence my decision to trade her in. Although I've been lucky and had zero issues over the years, I feel it's just time to let her go. My wife recently bought the new Volvo C40 Recharge, and after a friend buys my Chevy Colorado next week we'll finally be fully electric. From now on the only stops at highway gas stations will be to use the bathroom!

Does anyone use the Xcel Ev accelerate program in Colorado? Any thoughts?

Looks like you are limited to a 50 amp/12kW EVSE, but you get access to off-peak electricity rates ($0.06 kWh). I also don't like that you rent the EVSE from Xcel, but at $7 a month you are looking at like 9 years before the fee exceeds the cost of purchasing the EVSE (and likely exceeds the technology).

not sure if they still have it, but they also have a program for chargers (only includes 2 or 3). I got our chargepoint charger through this and they provide a $500 credit, but you need to sign off for off-peak rates. Mine are 9pm-6am, but they offer multiple slots

I know. I feel the same way. All the things that make it special I already knew :) It's fast, it's pretty.

Biggest takeaways for me:
  • The suspension is just so, so good. Soaked up all the bumps, yet cornered like it was on rails
  • The quality of the interior is exceptional. Nice stitching, soft materials, fantastic looking wood accents
  • Seats are very comfortable
  • I'm 6'2"+, and while I could fit behind myself driving, I wouldn't want to be back there very long. Otherwise, the back seats were very comfortable if I were a more normal person
  • It's really quiet. And the sound it makes when accelerating is very futuristic rocket-ship sounding
  • Denver weather sucks this time of year, and makes it very unpleasant to look at cars outside
  • Bed cover was quieter than expected, based on videos
  • Rear camera still kinda sucks, but it's not terrible. 360 view was very nice.
  • Sound system is very good, but not as utterly amazing as some reviewers had led me to believe. Slightly disappointing.
  • Spotify was misbehaving on the center console. Searching didn't work and was just generally messed up. I'm assuming this is a one-off that would be fixed.
  • I want mine. And I want it now. And waiting will now be even harder than before.
Can you explain why you say the suspension is just so-so good? I am not sure what else you would want if it corners like you say and yet soaks up all the bumps. What's it getting wrong?

I read that differently than you

I read it as so so good as in really really good, Not so-so good.

Be interesting to see his response.
