I've been in touch with @DuckTruck, and he's on board.
Proposing the first ORiviot (not sure if that will stick or not ?‍♂ ) meetup at the Drive Electric Earth Day (DEED) event in Wilsonville on April 23rd.

Just my luck, I'll be in Germany that weekend.

A buddy of mine was able to take a drone up to check the latest deliveries at the service center. So exciting to see the influx of vehicles coming in for Portland deliveries!

Thanks for sharing the video. I was able to track down the address and drove by this morning. Got a chance to see all of the colors in person except limestone and yellow. Was going to go with blue, but think I'm going to switch to red, it was much more subtle in person than in the configurator. I really recommend if you have a chance to see them in person before choosing to do so.

Were you able to get up close or just peeking over the fence?

The gates were open and I walked in. They let me look around although they mentioned that it wasn't a public facing facility. They didn't have any trucks that I could open a door to as they were all for customers, but were very accommodating and I chatted with one of the guys who was very nice and answered all the questions I had (didn't have too many as I think most of them have been answered via forums and reviews).

"Then we broke the jack point adapter that came with the truck so we took it out to The Tire Guy and he swapped out the spare free of charge.
When you come up for air (!) I'd be interested in more info about the broken adapter. What is it adapting and is it fragile, etc. A pic would be great, but understand you have MUCH better things to do.

The event has been late coming together with a fair amount of red tape to host it on City property, but it looks like a go.
Format is owners show off their EVs and talk to the public, and as many dealers/manufacturers as we can round up will be there providing test drives (Rivian will not be doing test drives at the event).
Duck has agreed to show up with his R1T, and any and all are welcome to join and get a chance to meet like minded folks (both Rivian specific and EV enthusiasts). Historically, these events have been dominated by Tesla in numbers, but I actually think there is a fair chance that new Rivian owners could give them a run for their money.
For those waiting to see one in person, hoping that there will be a variety of colors (at least the limited number they seem to be shipping) to see side by side. I have no doubts what the main attraction of the event will be :like:

(Plug in America reviews changes before they are published so an updated description)
We might have a nice gift for the first xx (tbd) number of registered attendees and vehicle owners. No promises, but that is our intent.

If you are not near Portland, there are 100+ events around the country and hopefully some proud new owners will register to those as well to show off their new rides.

Bummer that I will miss it as I'll be in Idaho that weekend.

There is supposed to be a small nipple at the top of plastic piece in the first picture that goes into the hole in the second picture. It sits on top of the supplied jack.

I’d say it is fragile but if used more carefully, ensuring absolutely no lateral force it would be fine.

And apparently I didn’t get all the mud off from todays adventures ;)

Looks like GRFP so it should be strong enough. Jack points on lots of cars are made of the same stuff.

is this a warranty thing?

The guy delivering my Rivian said they would. I already have a small list of repair issues:

- Jack piece above
- New tire to replace the one that had a screw in it on delivery
- A couple of gaps/misaligned panels. The deliver gent pointed out one near the door handle on the drivers door and I have found that the plastic trim on the bottom of the back doors could be better aligned.
- Also I am having trouble getting my air compressor working. It will turn on fine but when I was trying to inflate the spare tire after install to match the other tires it would instantly turn off even know the reading said it hadn’t reached the set pressure

Nothing major and a bit nit picky on the gaps.

Easily solved. Looks to me like a Safe Jack bottle jack (and accessories) will fit perfectly.

The supplied part is not "Adventure Ready", apparently even if your adventure is in your driveway.

I saw an auto transport on I-84 by the Oregon convention center with 3 more R1T’s today! It was so quick and I was driving but I believe I saw Rivian blue with the 22’s, a launch green, and a white one.

Rivian reached out today. Apparently they had seen this post.

They are submitting tickets to get all of these things fixed. Seems they are trying really hard to make sure us early customers are happy. Good to see.

With a couple of us signed up for our First Drive events... anyone got any tips for some dirt road driving in or around Portland? I was going to do a quick freeway test and test some curves on Germantown road. No idea if we have any dirt/trails that I can take the truck out on nearby. Curious what y'all have planned to test during your events!

If you are planning on Germantown, you might consider heading more towards my area and head up Logie Trail Rd. to Skyline and come down Rocky Point. Turning right off Rocky Point onto highway 30 is a good opportunity to try out the acceleration. It's a fun drive and a decent opportunity to try different drive modes. Rocky Point has some really poorly maintained spots that will give you a feel of the suspension through some rough patches and regen will put around 5 miles back by the time you get to the bottom. The brakes on previous vehicles I've driven down Rocky Point have gotten pretty hot, but I don't even touch the brakes with the R1T. Decent scenery too.
