A few more than three, but I continue to be surprised how few seem to have chosen FE. I bet selection rates might have been double had it been a free choice. In some ways that means we're paying Rivian an extra 2k to ensure we go last in the production schedule

Where? Only the OPs guide has said a delay. Everyone else says you're on track for your delivery window, which is not a delay.
Not sure why we are going round and round, but in addition to the "OP" of this thread, there have been at least two other posts (that I know of), from pre order holders on other forums, who have reported the same advice from their guides about Ocean Coast delays. Hence the contradictions. I have also directly spoken with someone who has already took delivery and their guide gave a similar report. To be clear, I am hoping they are misinformed
, but given that I'm an early pre order holder, with a March-April window, located close to a delivery that has already taken place and haven't even been contacted by a guide yet, an obvious possibility is that my Ocean Coast configuration may be holding it up.

Relative to BM, yes, an OC config is likely holding up delivery, but relative to quoted delivery windows there has been nothing remotely definitive. Pure speculation and no reports of a missed delivery window based on OC.

Case in point, spoke to my guide again today. Zero mention of OC delaying things. He did say my wheel change might cause a delay, but not my interior color.

I saw a FE interior coming down the line and it looked fantastic
Makes perfect sense to me that Rivian would move the orders with FE interiors ahead of OC and remaining BM orders, right? Right?? (Trying to come up with convincing logic, nothing yet though.................)

I agree, makes perfect sense to get mine out of the way so I don’t hold anyone else up.

Does anyone know if these customer service reps are even at the plant?
They are likely working from home or an offsite office somewhere and to everyones point, reading from a script and told to say “there is no delay, they’re coming off the line”

do we know for sure these reps are actually at the plant?

Great to hear and you should know that I am really rooting for that to be true. Nothing would make me happier than if you got your R1T, (in any color) with Ocean Coast delivered tomorrow. Not sure when you ordered, but if so, and being in the first 4% of order holders, in an area already taking deliveries, that would indicate that I can't be too far behind.

But it strikes me as odd that some guides are saying "OC is delayed" and others say "no delay at all, you are on track". It is quite a contrast. I would blow a gasket if I switched to BM after being "guided" to do so and 2-4 weeks later OC started to deliver.'

"OC is delayed" compared to what, though? That's where the context is gray and is always paired with "we can get you BM sooner." That makes sense in the context of batching, but I haven't heard anyone definitively say "your delivery window will be pushed back because you have OC," and I haven't seen anyone say their delivery window was missed because of it.

"Switch to BM to get your truck sooner" is not the same as "we won't hit your delivery window unless you switch to BM."

Have spoken to CS reps that are and are not at the plant. My Guide lives in Normal, and says she "saw FE interior coming down the line yesterday". I know, a photo would be more proof, but doubt any of us are going to get that. Better if someone that works on the line would report, but that's probably not going to happen either. Surely they are inundated with questions about this, so maybe the Friday email???

CS chats and my Guide have both said they do not have insight into what will be coming off the line next. It does appear that the Guides were given directions to point people in the BM direction if appropriate in an attempt to clear the backlog of BM interiors and make their first quarter numbers look as good as possible.

BM is more popular and understand why it batched first. How many canceled or couldn't cut the financing---> a backlog of BM, and end of quarter deadline looming. I don't want to be first, and am hopeful we will soon hear gleeful reports of OC and FE deliveries, with same quality.

I am going to leave it at this. From my perspective, Rivian has not been remotely transparent or meaningfully communiciative from the beginning. They continue to operate under a veil of silence. Rivian has delivered trucks to some who had ordered 12-16 months after many other order holders, without a single contact indicating why or how they might be able to honor early reservation holder orders sooner and what specifically is holding those orders up. The truck is awesome, but Rivians customer service and track record is deplorable. Is it that far of a stretch to think they are possibly withholding information again? They have 30 days to "hit" my delivery window... I am hoping they can, but am skeptical they will.

I'm right there with you as far as Rivian's communication is concerned. It has been atrocious, and you're absolutely right that withholding internal information about an actual delay could be M.O. for the company. However, for the issue at hand in this thread and at this particular point in time the delay narrative has come almost exclusively from reservation holders who were told they could be moved up in the queue by switching to BM rather than Rivian saying delivery windows will be missed if you stick with OC.

I happen to know with certainty that communication on interior colors is coming s00n. Hang in there.
