Some guides and reps are saying Ocean Coast is delayed and others claim there are Ocean Coasts in production.
Where? Only the OPs guide has said a delay. Everyone else says you're on track for your delivery window, which is not a delay.

One guide speculated there might be a delay simply because they could switch to BM and get the truck to the buyer sooner. No guide has said there is officially a delay, and in fact multiple folks have reported guides telling them OC is on the line now.

What do solid state batteries have in common with Fusion Reactors? Solid state batteries have been 2 or 3 years away for the past 10 years, just like fusion reactors have been 10 years away for the past 40 years, lol.
It’ll be ready by Feb 31st

For what it's worth, I've had multiple CS engagements recently and bring up this "controversy" about interior colors other than BM having a delay beyond any certain delivery window. Consistently been told by CS there is no information about a delay (I know that seems semantically vague) and that my own May-June window for a LG R1T with FE interior remains valid. I'm a believer in the batching hypothesis and that BM was the most selected interior color thus became the first up for a longer initial production run.

I reread the first couple pages of posts and, technically, the OP said their guide said a delay, but there was nothing in writing. Every chat transcript I saw supports the no delay side of things.

It makes me wonder if there was a misunderstanding somewhere. Maybe the OP’s guide heard that a truck could be provided earlier (very s00n in RivianSpeak?) if Black Mountain interior was selected and that got turned into, “Anything other than Black Mountain is delayed.”

edit: typo

I really don't understand why people keep asking regular CSRs about these sorts of things. They don't know any more than people on this forum. They will never have any more information about when you'll get your vehicle than what you got in the email in November or whatever will eventually show up on your account page once they get that working.

They won't be told about any delays for specific colors or models until customers have started missing their delivery windows.

My guide said delay, and since I was in the March-April window, I switched to BM. Got the truck Monday.

Delay is an overloaded term in this context. Did they actually say "if you stick with OC your truck will not be delivered by April 30th"?

It was "I don't know if you will take delivery by April 30th if you stick with OC". So "delay" meant my window might not be met. I preordered 11/28/18, so I had a pretty early reservation #.

Was their response due to a question like "can you guarantee my April 30th window if I stick with OC?"

I figure if you really push the guides they will say that, because they cannot tell the future. But if you casually ask, they will say they are still on track.

This morning, texting with my Guide on this issue, she said "just yesterday, I saw a FE interior coming down the line and it looked fantastic, so that's a good sign! I'll let you know as soon as I have word on OC interior!" Exact verbage, hoping she REALLY will remember to inform me. Pretty likely that I will need to remind her, but we shall see.

No, the guide offered that info, it sounded like part of the sales pitch to get me into a BM. I asked several questions after that and got similar feedback to others on the forum (vague). After waiting almost 3.5 years, I was not tied enough to OC to continue to live in the unknown, so I made the switch.

That's fantastic news for the three of us who ordered FE!
