Unfortunately, that is exactly what happens on the R1T. View is completely obscured. The truck knows the tailgate is down, would be super easy to have the camera switch automatically when the tailgate is down.

Took a look when I got the truck today...marginally better than the Ridgeline. The camera is below the tailgate, not on it, but you still can't see much...might keep you from fitting a curb or something...
Guess I'll have to 'old school' my backups for now.

I know the Rivian doesn't have HomeLink or other garage door opener features at the moment. If you have a garage door opener that is compatible with Alexa, can you use the Alexa in the truck to open the garage door? I am thinking about replacing our main garage door opener with a Genie that has Alexa capability, so wanted to see if this would work or not.

Be careful with ride height as that will change the distance...

Good point. Never had a vehicle where that could change. I'll play around with it and see how much it varries

At the Denver open house I made sure to mention to some of the engineers that I was shocked the Gear Tunnel didn't have any tie downs in it.

Report back what kind of range/efficiency numbers you get some standard 20" M&S tires. What size did you go with?

Michelin had one ECO tire 275/65 R20. Defender LTX M/S. It is 5 lbs heavier, but I am certain it will be quieter, and a very good tire suited for me.

I have a fancy opener with a button in the car so that the door only operates when intended.

It sounds like you went with an LT (Light Truck) tire, which is why it's heavier at 53 lbs (vs 48 lbs for the Rivian AT tire). Did you consider going down a size to 275/60R20 (which matches the 33" diameter of the 21" wheels)? The Defender tire in that size is 42 lbs, the Scorpion AS+ 3 is 38 lbs.

The Spotify app is integrated with the truck. You will need to set up an account, either free (with ads) or premium (paid, no ads) to use it.
