Did the R1T Quad with Max pack so it looks like 2023 from that chart which actually works well for me timing wise.

We're all just guessing, but I'd say you're looking at very late 2023 at best and more likely 2024. All that chart tells us is that they plan to begin R1T Max Pack deliveries in 2023, but there are going to be a lot of people ahead of you in line. Good luck!

Sounds good in theory but you don't know if a post is going to bother you until you've read it (or the title). And once you've seen it, you can't un-see it.

I guess I am just dumbfounded with the amount of people that would rather ask a forum of internet strangers who aren't employed by Rivian than the company they ordered from. I also think its frustrating to read the same questions over and over again, on any forum, that have already been answered. Odds are on a forum, if you have a question, its probably been asked before. A new member should take a few minutes to read previous posts. I can't count the number of posts on a Jeep JL forum where people ask which engine should they buy 2.0 or 3.6, like they are the first to face that question.

Just placed a R1T pre-order and there's no estimates at all on delivery dates. I'm in the Boston area. Any guesses on rough timelines?

Welcome to the forums! We don’t have much info from Rivian to help answer this with really high confidence. They’ve made less than 5000 total and claimed to have 83,000 active pre orders as of March 8. Rivian says they will make 15,000 R1 vehicles (and 10k delivery vans) this year, limited by supply chain. Plant capacity might allow rivian to work through remaining preorders next year, as they say plant will be capable of full rates by the end of next year. New startup so definitely some risks with Rivian’s claim on plant capacity and time needed to get to rates, even assuming they get the parts needed.

But…..I expect supply chain is a bigger concern next year, I’m not confident supply chain will allow getting the production rate up to capacity. Sry for long answer. I expect you seen much of this before.

My point entirely, this problem has been around since the first forum was created, it will not go away with snark or anything like that. (or probably at all)

Rivian will have the plant capacity next year to produce enough vehicles, but supply chain constraints may be your biggest issue. In previous guidance Rivian wanted to get Noemail up to 150k annual production by end of 2023. They’re going to do 25k this year due to supply chain issues. If this improves, I think they’ll greatly increase production. Also, keep in mind, they are not producing the Max Pack yet, and while they say 2023, I can see that pushing if supply issues persist.

It is more realistic you’re looking at first half 2024 for delivery.

Thanks, I wasnt sure with max (since I skipped the one link where they indicated this) if that would move the order earlier or not. Other vendors have prioritized higher end configs in the early days to fund growth. With towing impact the large pack is a bit too small for my needs.

Yeah, Max pack got shoved off, most likely due to the higher number of batteries needed. They aren't even starting on Max Pack deliveries until 2023 (and I think it's optimistic to think they'll start those early in the year). I originally had a Max Pack configured for my September 2021 order, and last year I was given a "second half of 2023" estimate when they emailed those to everyone. I honestly doubt I would have even gotten the truck by then.

I think it's going to be all they can do to get through the existing 40-50k preorders they had at the end of last year before the end of 2023. Just to do that, they'll have to get all 15k trucks built this year, then double production next year. And the last time we had a number, it had jumped to 80k preorders, and it's been growing since then. I personally doubt anyone who has ordered since March 2022 is going to see a truck before 2024, but who knows?

The one thing you have in your favor is that they've already delivered some vehicles in that part of the country. Out here in the (southern) midwest, they have only delivered a few to employees, as far as I have seen.

Actually, I believe they said they had nearly 49,000 preorders at the end of last September. If memory serves, the reservation number they gave as of mid-December was around 71,000.

71k was the number given at the December earnings call.
They were over 81k at the March call. These are the numbers in their public filings.

25k vehicles will be produced this year, 15k R1 series and 10k delivery vans.
