Tiger stripes in hood paint

Lol. It’s great! Got a brand new Launch Green one to play with. Has a Michigan plate so wasn’t taken out from under a preorder holders nose. Guys who work for Rivian but live in Austin drove it down from Dallas…so not too far out of the way for them to bring it to SA.

Well, I received my cross bars and floor mats…and then a mystery package showed up with the Recovery Kit! Pretty nice of Rivian…I hope I can put all this in/on the truck soon. ?. Hopefully receiving the truck back in perfect shape this weekend. ??

Ah, man…frustrating! I heard from someone else that has the same issue, but only visible on hood. If it’s just the hood that’s “lucky”. What’s your vin range?

Respray is all done on mine but now has to go to Houston for a wheel alignment and camera calibration? ?‍ Guess Dallas doesn’t have the special tools, etc? Sooo….maybe I get it back this weekend.

VIN is 32xx , only on hood is where I can see, and only on about the front 3/4 of the hood.

Good luck! I would be hopeful on the respray as I assume it was done by a human vs. the paint robot that's causing the stripes in the first place.

I noticed it day 1. It’s there the whole time, you just don’t see it until full sun and worse at different angles.

That's a big bummer. Now i have to look for these before i schedule a ppf and ceramic coating to be applied when I get my truck.

Yeah, I went 3 weeks and was getting super annoyed but then they brought me a Launch Green loaner, so I've had that to tide me over.

Any idea how common the striping is in the silver paint?

If this is happening routinely, it is going to be a huge deal. Can you imagine the time and expense it will cost Rivian to get them all fixed?
