It's Friday and my hopes were again dashed today.

My BU guide told me there was a local truck that matched my config with some minor changes that worked for me at the same price. Got super excited and asked for the online config. Waited all day only to log in and see the truck has the dark wheels and she didn't add the additional $3500.

As much as I want my LE LG I'm not forking over an additional $3.5K for a set of dark wheels.

Back of the line I go - more waiting ... s00n

I leave for Spain for a week tomorrow (for work) - which means on Monday I will get a guide that will tell me i can have a truck in two days.

Landed in spain at 5:30 got the guide email two hours later.

Received a txt from the SLC service center yesterday morning. Truck is there moving into final prep and will be delivered to me on Thursday. It’s getting real!

PBA signed - looks like there are two trucks in Portland right now that I can choose from -

LG FE 20AT w/ shield
Limestone FE 20AT w/o shield

I am leaning towards LG because I think I want that shield - In any case, if the tucks are still available I can take delivery on Monday (I get home on Sunday).

I think I'm overthinking the shield. I don't think I'm suddenly going to do any crazy off roading - certianly nothing more "extreme" than what I do in my 100% stock Crosstrek.

So seems like $2k that doesn't need to be spent - which can go towards Limestone paint!

Sure would like to know how this kind of "flexibility" information is handled by your Guide. Did he/she reach-out proactively to discuss options like this? Did you have to pester hard to get this kind of info?

Not sure if my own Guide experience (for just one whole week at this point) is typical or not, but to say its been fruitless would be spot-on. Intro call was a dud mainly because it started 40-min. late into the 1-hr window. A handful of emails and texts since have gone unanswered. And if the Guide has an iPhone then the text stream suggests its never been viewed. Calling the "Guide Center" is a joke since after 2 or 3 rings it goes to a community voice message service.

Anecdotal evidence says you either land a spunky, engaging Guide advocating on your behalf, or a glamorized CS agent.

I know..... I know. 1st World problems and especially in this community with more deserving souls lacking any guide-ance whatsoever.

I'm over 2 weeks out and still nothing. My guide doesn't respond to e-mails, only text messages. Takes about a day to respond. The answers are basically no or I don't know. So your not missing out on much. The excitement of signing my PBA is gone for me.
