VIN assigned - What’s everyone’s average delivery time from there?

9/21 Pre-order date. Limestone, black interior. I’ve been assigned a guide and started the 8 step process. I’m showing an assigned VIN but I need to sell my current truck. I have no idea how fast/slow I need to do that process. What’s everyone been averaging once you have a VIN assigned?

Got my VIN a week ago. A few delays in getting it, but once I did the delivery was a week. Received it today promptly at 11am, the process once they arrived was fast and easy. A couple of small blemishes they noticed and made note of, so at some point I’ll drive in and get them looked at. Just minor cosmetic things. This vehicle is a beast though. Going to be fun figuring it all out.

Mine was about 3 weeks. But the last week of that was really scheduling related between me and the delivery folks. Truck was ready at 2 weeks.​

I'll probably get downvoted for this, but keep the high likelihood of delays on mind when figuring out selling your truck.

We waited three weeks for a VIN, got one, did our contract, did financing with our CU and insured the truck as Rivian requested. A week later, they called and said the gave us the wrong VIN, so we had to resubmit our paperwork for the financing and the insurance.

Was supposed to have the vehicle delivered yesterday, but, as many others have experienced, there were "issues" when the truck arrived at the SC, and now we'll be picking it up Friday (delivery is no longer an option, apparently).

When they give you a delivery date, take it with a grain of salt and expect a potential delay of up to a week or so. If the delay doesn't happen, you're no worse off, but if it does, at least you're prepared.

Mike, is your delivery this Tuesday? I thought the VINs were sequential, most of the current deliveries are in the 5500. Wonder why yours is so low.

I had my 8 step opened on a saturday, vin was assigned at that moment, i completed the 8 steps within 10 mins, delivery scheduling was the 8th step, originally was set to be 3 days later after i completed the 8 steps. had a delay with a paint issue that was spotted at the SC and delivery was rescheduled for a week later.

5.5.22 Initial call with guide
5.9.22 Assigned VIN, vehicle at or in transit to Atlanta SC
5.13.22 Vehicle inspection at SC, needed minor paint correction
5.20.22 Paint correction to be completed (actual completion not confirmed yet)
6.2.22 is scheduled Delv date, 23 days after VIN, 1089 days after preorder

I am 250 miles from SC, Guide tells me delivery date set by delivery truck availability. Likely could be earlier if I were able to pick it up at the SC.

Can you do a trade in? In some states that could reduce your sales tax by a significant chunk.

Based on some quick Googling, it looks like Nevada does this.

My guess....and I hope I am wrong, as my original truck had a low vin too...is that while others were receiving in the 3000 range, vehicles with older vins needed some rework before delivery.

That's what I'm also thinking, there is a story behind the low vin's just getting delivered now.
