Reset your trip meter when you shut it off, in the AM it should tell you exactly how much energy you have lost.

I have been seeing 5-6kWh/day without gear guard, latest software and in my insulated garage (~60F).
GOM went from 304 to 302 miles unplugged overnight, about 10 hours ago. Not using gear guard, but phone for a key still enabled. Still original software, asking me to update, but afraid to do while on a trip, will wait until back home.

For vampire drain try to report the loss in kWh or %. kWh being preferred.

Nobody has any idea how much energy is 2 miles for your vehicle.

Well that seems quite good. In my R1T which is in my insulated garage with current temp 69F. Gear Guard off, proximity key off, HVAC off, doors locked.

From 3pm yesterday to 6am this morning it used 2kWh (this was 6-7 miles of range against my full charge estimate of 272).

Averaging around 2.5 miles per kWh, so that's about 0.8 kWh loss in 10 hours unplugged.

You betcha! Any power drawn from the battery when the truck is not in D or R counts as phantom drain.

Yes, but is this option maybe on without people realizing it? I don't have my Rivian yet so I don't know where one can turn this off/on. I haven't seen this option be mentioned anywhere, so maybe this is on somewhere in the background and people haven't realized it? Hoping someone can confirm because hearing about this vampire drain is concerning.

Has anyone talked about the "Convenience Power" mentioned in the manual? Is this contributing to the vampire drain??

Interesting find.

Can an owner please verify of this is an option to turn on or off and if it is on by default and comes back on every time you use your vehicle? or the other way around? If it has been on during most of these tests, we may need a redo with it off.

The outlets stay off or on until you switch them. The default state is they are off.

Do you see a "convenience power" option you can turn on or off? it seems like it is different from outlets.

No place to turn off "convinence power"...

Also feels weird to get out of the truck woth a/c going and walk away waiting for it to shut down so i generally hit the "all off" button before disembarking.

One thing i noticed today was after turning on the cool down feature from the app while out of the car it will revert to keeping the car comfortable even if you turn off the a/c before leaving. Situation i was in today: came back from hike and truck 90 degrees inside so while making my way to parking lot started a/c from app. Drove home with a/c on. In garage turn all climate off and get out of car (no fans running). Inside house wondering what the truck temperature is a few hours later and open app to find it running a/c to keep climate comfortable. Thats the first time ive seen the a/c on while Ive been out of the truck.

See I find it strange that no one has mentioned this yet or knows what it is yet it's clearly in the manual. I wonder if this is the culprit for the truck staying on all the time when everything else is off or locked. I would love for anyone else who has to truck to chime in.

The manual also says when convenience power is on that “A visual indicator appears in the center of the status bar”. This is why I assume from context that convenience power = AC outlets

AC power off:

AC power on:
