just based on the 3802 number/vin we know that's a rejected one since they should be on 5k+ early MaySaw this on Facebook. There seem to no hi price incentive for Rivian here.

Not sure you can say rejected as the numbers have been all over the place. I do not think they are grabbing them from the lot in Normal in the order they were put there.just based on the 3802 number/vin we know that's a rejected one since they should be on 5k+ early May
Agree it is guidance. The bottom line is they need to increase production to fill the existing 70k+ old price holders and then move onto the higher price models. Hopefully by end of next year they can have made 70k R1.They made 5000 thus far, their guidance is for 25K total vehicles....how many are vans is unknown, for 2022. That said guidance is simply that...guidance. Not in hard stone. Tesla beats "guidance" all the time. Rivian's guidance was originally 50K...dropped to 25K...nothing says they can't modify that number upward or downward at a future date.
I don’t believe it.Where is that from? Finding that hard to believe. Feels like they misunderstood the question.
I couldn’t disagree more. Not honoring existing preorders in favor of more recent orders with the new pricing is just bad business. I received my R1T two months ago (preorder date 11/19) and am thrilled Rivian ultimately honored the preorder price. While I have my vehicle in hand I want Rivian to succeed in the longer term but favoring short term profit over it’s reputation and customer loyalty is not the formula for long term success. Hopefully other shareholders of RivIan won’t share your views. As a Rivian shareholder. This is what I want to see. People placing orders in April, May and June buying Rivians at an average higher selling price. The argument has been from long term holders, "well, maybe I'll cancel my order if they are going to deliver to other people first". I think Rivian is seeing so much demand for its product they're thinking, "Well where else are you going to go if you cancel? Ford's two-three year waiting list?" As with Teslas....the more RIvian rolls out their trucks (and SUVs), the more people see them, experience them, and want them. And if Rivian were smart, they'd sell the highest average ordered ones first regardless of order date..or at least make it a 50-50 or higher mix. Their quarterly reported losses will be a lot less which means their cash burn will be a lot less and the financial markets will react quite positively to their stock if they continue this smart trend. I hope to see more posts like these going forward.
Congrats to you, truly, but this is bullshit lol.So, not to attempt to one up the OP BUT I ordered on 5/19/22. Got email saying truck was ready to build on 5/20/22. 8 Step opened up 5/25/22. Awaiting communication on exact delivery date. Needless to say, I have been completely shocked by how fast this will be for me. See my build below (also peep the R1S I have had on order FOREVER! LOL):

i pre ordered 2/5/2022 and customer service told me I am not getting a truck until 2023. I got the basic stuff— FG, BM, AT, Large pack— maybe I should switch to 21” lol.Saw this on Facebook. There seem to no hi price incentive for Rivian here.

I didn't find switching my configuration ever made a difference, but if you are open to other configurations, it's not a bad idea to let CS know. Being in LA where there will be a lot of trucks landing, it's possible there could be a truck that goes undelivered for whatever reason and you could hit the rivian lotteryi pre ordered 2/5/2022 and customer service told me I am not getting a truck until 2023. Not necessarily. I've contacted CS twice in the last 5 months. They won't tell me a delivery window. Apparently for those of us who configured after mid-December 2021 (regardless of when we pre-ordered), we have no delivery estimate. We can chat and email CS 'til the cows come home ... and we still won't get a delivery estimate.Customer Service can tell you your delivery window -- worth opening a chat to find out. Dunno why they didn't tell you before, but just ask specifically for your delivery window.
The rest of us have delivery estimates. But they don't seem to mean anything anyway. So not really sure which group is better off...Not necessarily. I've contacted CS twice in the last 5 months.
