This may be a silly question, does anyone know what impact hauling a full size spare have on range (of any)?

nothing meaningful. Just like bringing your spouse doesn't do much.

Remember, it's a... 7,000 pound truck. The spare adds less than 1% weight.

...and there is an impact on load as well, but, that said, driving without a spare is a really bad idea if a person has any intension of going outside of an urban core. I've been in places with no cell reception and have had a blowout. No spare, maybe still be there :)

Load is the only impact through the rolling resistance which is responsible for say 1/4 of the consumption. Thus the impact on consumption and range might be 1/4%.

Driving without a spare has me concerned within the NYC metro area. The roads are such crap and we have more potholes than we do smooth pavement sometimes. I have popped 3 tires in the last 5 years on potholes, not to mention the number of family and friends.

While I hate to pay for it a spare is necessary otherwise I will be towing it somewhere to get repaired.

Omigosh! No serious injuries, I hope!
Just to my wallet... no serious if I didn't have tire protection it gets expensive. For how much we pay in taxes in this area our streets are ridiculous. I was in Phili today and I don't know if I would call them potholes or sink holes, but that would damage a rim if you hit it at speed.
