Can the people providing these numbers also provide mfg date on the door sticker? Would provide more insight.

I refused delivery of a low vin set for delivery last week, (it had history). Per sc they are produced in sequence with a myriad of reasons why they are out of sequence upon assignment to end user. Im now back in the lottery even though I have a very early reservation.

what was the history and how did you learn it? Did your guide tell you up front what they had done with it or did you inquire on your own?

I had to inquire on my own. Don't want to thrown my sales person/Guide under the bus however they were not that helpful in the situation. I guess the best part of the situation is maybe I wont have to take ownership of a truck with the awful powered tonneau cover. My hope is they will give LE owners the option of a manual option very S00n.

Got it - I figured that's not something they give up on their own and frankly that's the same with almost all car manufacturers - cars show up from the factory with problems all the time.

I was just curious because the truck I'm supposed to pick up next week is not my original spec, but one they "found" for me. So I had those paranoid thoughts that maybe it was rejected etc. But what I don't know won't hurt me (hopefully).

I did not answer your question in full so I will give more context: there could have been a parts availability issue that caused production to be delayed after the VIN was assigned, or the truck has in fact been built for a few months and the logistics of matching the configuration with your location took that long (not in my case) , or it did not pass QE at some point in the delivery process, or it got damaged in transit and had to be repaired, (bingo). There is also the possibility that the previous res holder changed their mind upon inspection.

Welp checked this morning and slightly disappointed. Trucks manufacturing date was 02/22 with a VIN of 28XX. I was told throughout my interactions with my guide that the truck was ”on the line”, it’s ”progressing well”, it’s “almost done”. The truck only had a few miles on it when delivered so I am wondering if they were just missing a few components? Still wonder what was missing between the guide and the manufacturing site.

Are there any issues with the truck? As long as it is fully sorted and nothing wrong, I wouldn't be bothered by the build date.

Are there any issues with the truck? As long as it is fully sorted and nothing wrong, I wouldn't be bothered by the build date.

1 week in, 500 miles, and it’s running great! Two minor issues, one with a paint issue on the drivers door, second there is wind noise from the passengers door. Overall though it has exceeded my very high expectations!!

Just got my VIN assigned, 68xx. Wish they had an online tracker to see where in process it is so I could know when to start insuring it so I can finish my 8 step process.
