Good reminder that the frunk isn’t a “cooler”, it’s a plastic tub with a drain. Just like similar compartments on any other vehicle.

Could be a good thing in the winter. I like to keep diaper bag in the front trunk of my Tesla when road tripping. But in the winter I have found the diaper wipes turn into a solid block of ice if i place them in the front trunk.

I had anticipated the frunk getting hot from the radiator/condenser fan blowing on it. Thought if there was some intention to use that as a cooler for tailgating that some reflecting self adhesive panels would be beneficial. I have some on standby for when I get the call I have been selected to join the family

In case anyone was wondering for food/cooler storage, temp in frunk and gear tunnel after ~2 hours
Colorado highway drive time, 80 degrees or so ambient.

+1 for the really useful datapoint. This @SASSquatch is keeping his Ben & Jerry's either in the main cabin or the gear tunnel on those ice cream runs in August....

I wonder how much difference it makes in the gear tunnel temperature if you leave the passthrough open while driving. I also wonder how that affects the ability for the AC to cool the entire cabin.
Sounds like it's Time for a test

Personally, I put a freezer in the frunk specifically for ice cream runs ?

Good to know that dismembered bodies will last significantly longer in the gear tunnel than the Frunk without attracting unwanted attention.
Weird they didn’t just put that in the manual.

This is going to be convective, not radiated, heat so reflective material isn't going to do you much good. You need insulation. ARB has jackets that slip over their portable refrigerators. You will need something like that.

If you are thinking of taking the frunk tub out and fastening insulation to it I wouldn't do that as it might interfere with the condenser air flow increasing compressor head pressure.

I've been trying to decide where I will put my deer come this fall.
-> gear tunnel to cool
-> frunk to cook.
