Between Kyle from OutOfSpec and a few others it's become clear that a select few lucky folks were able to fulfill their Adventure reservations with Launch Editions. This wouldn't be an issue had they been required to pay the difference in pricing benefits granted to the Launch Edition, but it appears they did in fact get the upgrades for free (free power tonneau, wheel upgrade, and bracelet key).
I've been chatting with my guide about it. He said it was only a handful of people and it's NEVER happening again. R1 shop invites allegedly will only show LE if you have an LE reservation. The handful which were issued were managed directly through guides who were looking out for their buyers.
As someone who's paying the new pricing I'm not exactly thrilled to hear this. Had I known this was an option I would have waited for an LE truck with 22" wheels and saved $5,500. I'm scheduled for delivery on Tuesday. I know many would like to be in my position, but this revelation is just another knock against Rivian's inconsistent customer experience.
