Medical equipment is person, situation specific. An ICU nurse or doc have extremely different operating situations than the field. They may see lots of gauze as silly.
However from field use, lots of gauze can be extremely useful to stabilize a device causing penetrating trauma.
I didn't buy the field kit, I made my own based on my experiences responding to calls, training I've had, scenario likelyhood. Kit ended up about $750.

By the way, back in Germany, where I got my license, we had to take a Red Cross training which taught us what to do in case of a road emergency. Pretty interesting and actually useful.

My kit is inexpensive and compact- a half liter of whiskey and 4 leeches.
I'm old school.

I laughed out loud when I saw the air fryer and espresso machine come out at the charging stop and I thought - that is a fantastic idea and I'm totally doing it when I get my R1T.

Ointments?

If you get a nasty cut, trust me you want an antibiotic ointment. Every first aid kit I've ever bought from a drug store has had something along those lines.

I've also had First Aid and CPR training, so maybe I am biased but I would want that in that situation.

Either way, it's nice RIVIAN included something, but I am probably going to take out the 1000 feet of gauze and put in more useful things, personally.
