A couple days back I got a warning "Surround Sensors Not Working. Please Service Soon". I tried a full reset to no avail. Have a ticket open, but service has basically been non responsive on my other tickets (tailgate won't lower after I unlock it, so I have to pull it - I think the alignment is off a bit - Need to have my front license plate attached).

The odd thing is that the blond spot detection is working fine. However, when parking I am not getting warnings as I back up towards a wall for instance.

Have you tried calling them to check in? They're extremely responsive to the tickets I've put in initially (like call me within an hour type of thing). Then it takes them some time to pull together their work plan, but I suspect every once in awhile a work order gets lost in this step or they just don't know to check in more frequently at this point yet.

Also, that's a weird error. Those sensors a picky though. My ID.4 used to throw an error for front assist and brake assist on some rainy or high humidity days at a specific point in my neighborhood. But nowhere else. Lol.

I already had my R1T in the Orlando service center for 15 days. My remaining concerns (all addressed previously but not fixed):
1. Tailgate does not open with 1 press of back button. 1 press loosens it but it is still latched. 2nd press releases tailgate button still needs a nudge to ”open with gravity”, as designed.
2. Windshield was replaced due to exterior scratches with a windshield with internal scratches.
3. Rear bumper needs replacement due to a cosmetic defect on it. Rivian is ordering a new bumper (not cover).
4. Still waiting on my 20” spare tire. Waiting 5 weeks now. They claim it is due to a lack of placards with tire specs.
5. Passenger gear tunnel PPF was replaced due to peeling on corners. New PPF needs replacement due to bubble.
6. Small chip on bottom of drivers door needs touch up. Waiting for SC to receive a factory touch up kit.

I have been waiting for a week now for Rivian to consolidate these items into 1 ticket, acquire the parts, and schedule repair. I am going to request their R1T loaner instead of an ERAC Ford Fusion again.

I've been waiting since May 13th for my vehicle to go back in and get all the items they were fixed the first time fixed again.

I have the same tailgate issue. It was taken to the SC in early May to fix that, the frunk that would not always open, and tonneau that would not always close completely (got to 1 inch from tailgate and stopped). Tailgate and tonneau issues are both back again.

I took delivery on 3/16 without the spare tire - still have not received that.

3 month temp IL registration expires tomorrow - still no permanent registration, and I was just transferring the plate from my old truck.

It's an early build so I expect some growing pains, but lack of a spare tire for 3 months and inability of transferring registration (traditional dealers get this done in 7 days or less) is pretty frustrating.

I had same warning this morning pop up before I left Bend, and it hasn’t gone away. Also since this error the adaptive cruise seems to be acting up and has disconnected with a red warning multiple times on the drive over the pass.

Mine resolved itself the next time I started her but submitted a service ticket anyways.

So this past weekend I road trip (450miles 1 way) my R1T to the Phoenix SC to get my tonneau cover un-jam. On the way there a small car kicked up a rock and cracked my windshield ?‍♂. Good news is the cover is now fully retracted so now I can use my bed. The bad news is the damage to the tonneau cover and the rails are extensive and needs to be replaced when the parts are 'available'.
FYI, the windshield is $1600 plus labor but is not available yet...

For me, this is how it works best. Latch right side with good push first, then move to left and push it down. Works everytime...and no big deal.
Anecdotal fixes FTW! Whether it’s software or cars (or car software) they’re a hallmark of agile development. Sad IMHO, but not surprising.

I'm happily married but in my younger days I would have appreciated this feature :)

Looks small enough to where you could use a $25 epoxy kit to fill it in.

This is one of the coolest posts on the forum I am hoping to see more of. @mindstormsguy just got this message on his new R1T:

Rivian R1T R1S R1 issues for new owners 1655414848781

And fixed it by adjusting these loose connectors on two of the wheels without taking the wheel off:

Did you just hand tighten or did you need Rivian tool RJ-650-2/5 ala Ford?

It just needed to be snapped in with hand to be locked. I have the link to his thread above.

Adding to the list, not much new, but this is what I just sent Rivian, this is in addition to the Tonneau cover not working prior to delivery, and being 'locked' open by the Service team. Doesn't stop the calibration warning popping up though.

  1. The keyfob frequently doesn’t seem to work in proximity mode, nearly always have to press the unlock button.
  2. Charging door alignment could be better.
  3. Qi charger doesn’t seem to want to work – we both have iPhone 13 Pro/Max, but we tried with our kids phone and same issue. I have a Qi tester, that seems to have issues too.
  4. Phone as a Key doesn’t work well, I’ve had to re-pair my phone 3 times already
  5. The tailgate release fails about 1 in 5 times with an error, normally re-doing it works fine
  6. There’s a blanking plate in the frunk that’s pretty gnarly
  7. The area around the tailgate release is fairly gnarled up too, looks like it been attached a few times with a screwdriver

All in all though, really not bad at all, these are all fairly minor, the overall fit & finish is better than any of our 6 Tesla deliveries. The phone-as-a-key needs to be fixed through, it's irritating it keeps dropping, and when it's 100f+ outside, you really do want to turn on the AC, but cant' do it if the phone isn't paired. If anyone cares, these are the pics relative to the above issues: https://photos.app.goo.gl/HQCSHao3P3MtDAHb7
