Sorry if this has already been posted, but I searched and couldn't find the answer. One of my favorite features about the truck is the sound system. However, I have an issue when I play music from the native Spotify app or start Amazon music using Alexa voice commands. The music plays flawlessly, but if I park the truck and come back to it later, there is no music -- it's like the sound system is off. I have to manually restart it again if I want any audio. It's a bit frustrating. Is there a setting for this that I'm missing? Are others having this issue?

Same here when streaming Pandora via Bluetooth from my phone. Connects and pulls it up automatically, but I have to push the play button to start it.
The other annoying thing for me is that there didn’t seem to be a way to get the floating window to move or minimize when using Bluetooth. Thus you can’t adjust the equalizer because portions of it are behind the floating window. I have to change to a native source, make my EQ changes and then go back to Bluetooth.

My truck resumes spotify right where I left it when I got out. If I stopped spotify - then it's stopped. If it was playing a song, that song will pick right up. I haven't done anything special to it.

@Gshenderson you can't swipe it away with bluetooth but you can with spotify? I will see if that's the case for me, I don't think it is but can't be sure as I use Spotify 99.9% of the time.

Mike,

My experience is like yours, but I'll have to try BT as well. Not only does Spotify continue to play until I lock the doors, it starts playing as soon as I return to the truck and open the door.

Not only does Spitify continue to play until I lock the doors, it starts playing as soon as I return to the truck and open the door.
It also continues to play if your rear door is not completely closed...

Took me a few minutes to figure out how to anawer my wife when she went into the garage one day and asked why there was music coming from the truck.

Good to know. I've likely done that and just assumed it was the voices in my head. One time, I'd been listening to an interview on a podcast. When I stopped and got out, I apparently didn't get the door closed. As I started to walk away, I heard the voices between my ears and panicked for a second because I couldn't understand a thing they were saying....?

Then I remembered it was an interview with Keith Richards. Mystery solved, reclosed the door, health scare averted....

@Gshenderson,

For what it's worth, my Bluetooth reacts the same way Spotify does. That is, both allow me to swipe right on the current track to remove it from the screen to allow the equalizer to be properly adjusted, just as I've done here for this classic. In this case, I set it in advance because, like Eric Cartman, with Styx's "Come Sail Away", I can't stop this song once it starts. I've got just over 17 minutes to go and the drum solo won't even be here for another 6 minutes and 21 seconds.

Oh yeah, I thought I'd mention that for those of you who think this sound system is lacking, you have vastly superior ears to mine. I think it sounds better than any other vehicle’s sound system, and I've heard some great ones. I will say that when I compare old that was master-recorded in analog onto magnetic tape, it doesn't sound nearly as good through the Meridian as things recorded in the digital age.

For me that started on May 17th, 1985, when Dire Straits released "Brothers In Arms" on the first all-digital CD I'd ever heard. I happened to be in Tower Records when the guy behind the counter spotted me and then, like any good supplier would do, he looked around to make sure his boss didn't catch us, and then said "Hey, man! Come here! you have to try some of this!"

I put on the headphones and he fired up the CD, with "Money For Nothing" already cued up. That was the day music changed for me. I heard that slow, perfectly clean sounding build-up, with Sting eventually whining "I want my...I want my MTV!", and I was hooked. No snap, crackle, or pop, and no constant hiss in the background. Then Mark Knopfler sealed the addiction with his Rickenbacker by blasting that iconic opening lick. Still gives me goosebumps when I even think about that day, let alone when I hear it now.

Having the original source captured digitally (not new tech) and then transmitted by CD, without my beloved vinyl imparting any of it's own signature on the sound, made all the difference. Fast forward to today, and even with mild tinnitus, the more recent, all-digital music sounds cleaner and clearer than the stuff that got cut with fillers made of analog. Nothing beats the clean sound of digital, even though I still love all of my old vinyl for listening at home.

I need to go for another ride......Bye-bye!

I had more fun reading this than I have had in a while! I completely agree. This Meridian system is vastly better sounding than anything I have heard in a car with a production system. And also like you, have heard many...

Haha, @DuckTruck you should have been a writer... I'm sure it's not to late.
Spotify in my R1T has been eh... spotty. I never had an account before but scanned the QR code in the Rivian and it started working, not sure if I'm going to get a bill or if it is on a free trial. The spotty part is about 30% of the time it won't load up even though I'm in cell service so I am still using XM over the phone on bluetooth.
I Went to the drive-in to watch Top Gun (Maverick) where you tune your FM radio and use the car audio. I ran in to two issues, the audio was 1 second delay from the movie and everyone else's, and I could not pair the camp speaker to the truck audio the way I've heard it described as being capable. Also didn't find instructions anywhere on ho to pair the camp speaker to the truck. So my wife and I watched from the bed of the truck and made up our own dialog to the movie since we couldn't hear to well. Still had a great time and still need to get the rest of the popcorn out of the spare tire.

Instructions are in the searchable owners manual. Just type 'camp speaker' and all the related info comes up. Works (mostly) flawless for me. If you're camping but going in and out of the vehicle a lot it can get confused where to play music but to be fair, it's not a mind reader.

I love the low light settings on it for stargazing but still needing some visibility to see things nearby like beer and food. Then I could bring it into the tent to charge my phone overnight.

Also if you don't have a premium Spotify account, I think sound quality is lower. Can also be affected by quality of internet. I have offline (downloaded) music with Spotify premium and it sounds great on the Meridian system.

You shouldn't get a bill. There is a free version with ads and a lower quality stream.

Im a bit baffled by your connection issues. Ive only had streaming issues when im literally out of cell service. It would be nice to be able to download a library like the native spotify apps, but I suppose you can always stream over Bluetooth then.

I have noticed a similar issue but so far it only seems to happen when I am streaming via Bluetooth or using TuneIn, the audio will freeze when I get out of the vehicle and will not start back up again when I get back in and I cannot just hit the play button to restart it, I have to go back to the app and start streaming again. Occasionally I even have to change the source first to "reset" it. Spotify so far has worked fine, I did sign up for a Spotify Premium trial, so I am not sure if that helps or not but as others have mentioned here my Spotify will immediate restart where it left off when I get back in the vehicle and its even smart enough to minimize the volume when I open the door (which I am sure my neighbors appreciate when I pull up with Cannibal Corpse blasting lol) and then it will shut off when I lock the truck assuming all of the doors are shut tight!

DuckTruck - your response brought back memories of my first all digital CD - Yes, stopped by Myer Emco (for those long-time denizens of the Washington DC Metro area) during a lunch break and listened to the just released "Brothers in Arms." Ended up buying a top of the line CD player and a few CDs to get started.

I'm hoping there will be improved audio options by the time my Max Pack R1T is built. I've had my Model S since November 2021 and am still learning / adjusting to the differences from various ICE vehicles. Tidal is great when it connects and I appreciate still having SiriusXM.

While the Genesis systems don't match the Model S or R1T Adventure systems in sound quality and presence, their user interface (certainly for someone who bounces across formats) is the most flexible and user friendly I've experienced.

Does anyone know if the speaker can pair with the Rivian sound system as the source?
