Just got the email! My preorder was confirmed on 1/2/2020. - When can I expect the guide to reach out... Should I give up extended pack?

I am a 1/4/20 max pack preorder holder and got the same email just now. I am willing to switch down to the large pack (same range as our Tesla Model X long range). It works just fine. I don't drive 400 miles at a time anyway and I am willing to wait to purchase better charging technology in the future, but I want to have my Rivian now. So I will definitely go with the current shop offer.

Thanks for sharing this, super helpful! Does the system only let you see your own region? Or are you able to see the entire available inventory for the whole country?

It's all about picking an alternative configuration from the R1 Shop that you will be allowed to see and compare.

If you find something you love, then trigger the order button in the shop, contact your guide, and you'll get a truck sooner than your planned. Best of luck, lucky you!

Oh I am not an early reservation holder (in fact I will be buying at the new and higher price) but I do live in Denver so I hope my proximity to the service center will boost my chances of getting access to the R1 shop. I would be delighted if I could get one before the end of the year to be honest…

I have flipped back and forth from R1S to R1T to try to get a bite once the Shop opened. Didn’t hit for me, but I only tried for a week two different times (also in Denver area-Broomfield). Only reason I tell you this is because I haven’t seen anyone post shop pics from where we live. Not that it hasn’t happened, but haven’t seen anyone so far. Just make sure you have 21s, powered tonneau and no underbody, no spare might help too lol..

I was hoping the local service center would give us an advantage but maybe all the Mountain region reservation holders are buying their ordered cars so we don’t have a Denver R1 shop per se…

I am also not yet able to choose a configuration, all I can do under my account is to switch between R1T and R1S or cancel my reservation.

Seems like only some locations are getting shop access. As far as I am aware little if any people in the Northeast are getting R1 Shop invites either. I changed my wheels to be the 21s in hopes of getting access if and when the Northeast section starts seeing a lot of invites coming. Then I hope to see at least a few with 22s that I would snag.

Haaaa! You’re basically right between our restaurants, I probably know you irl. IF I ever get my R1S, you can check it out and we’ll meet up. Good luck my man, but I think you’re gonna be waiting a bit for your number to get called. Who knows though with Rivian…

If you pick a configuration from the shop, I'm sure you'll quickly hear from a guide.

Yes, you have a very early res, however your config is an Explorer, they are not going to reach out to you unless you have an LE or Adventure config saved.

I have an explore package and I got the 6-8 week store access email this morning, my order date was March of 20

FWIW, I am in the Denver area and had access to the shop recently, and the available inventory was pretty much exactly the same as posted here for the Atlanta area.

And I have a 1:00 time confirmed tomorrow to pick up our R1T.

No special way that I know of. Just have an early preorder. I was told that they are offering access to people who preordered in 2019/2020. Seems you also have to be near certain cities.
