First look at @ “Introducing the R1 Shop” -- Rivian website to shop for R1T that delivers in 6-8 weeks

So I'll add another data point to this. Up until yesterday I had my address in DFW set as my delivery address because that's where I expected to be during my anticipated delivery window. The address is about 40 miles from the DFW SC. Yesterday, as a test, I changed my delivery address to my permanent address in Charleston, which is ~250 miles from the ATL SC. This morning, on a whim, I changed my delivery address to where I spend my time during the week in Clemson, SC, which is about 120 miles from the ATL SC. This evening got invited to lock my configuration. The only thing I changed in that process was my delivery address.

Could be total coincidence, but unlikely. My guess is, ATL is getting a higher output right now than DFW (could be several reasons), and the acceptable delivery radius for Rivian right now is between 130 miles and 250 miles.

Just curious, do you have any insights on how this might impact your registration/tax situation?

My truck was always going to be registered in SC because it's my permanent residence and it also has just about the best sales tax situation on a new car in the entire US ($500 cap). Switching to a SC actually makes that part of the equation easier.

Very interesting we haven’t seen any of the free colors (silver or white) in the shop for a long time. I wonder if there is some thought given to this, i.e. they don’t want to make any more white or silver than they have to for pre March orders.

I'm waiting for my launch green LE truck. I see two silver ones in my R1T shop both with 22s. So close but not the right color. I did see some other LE trucks about 2 weeks ago but not much since. Maybe it's a Mid-Atlantic thing.

DFW deliveries are definitely being throttled right now. Wonder if it has to do with the permanent site being close to open.

i tried this trick by changing my delivery address from Washington to Los Angeles on tues. no luck so far. i might be able to get a hold of an address near Atlanta next week. will let you know if i do and if that makes a difference.

I'll be in Atlanta for an extended amount of time this year anyway, so I changed my delivery address to my friend's address 12 miles away from the SC. I'll give it a week before switching back. My folks are also in Orlando, so when I visit them, I might give that a try in November.

Does anyone with a Launch Edition reservation have access to the shop, or have those all been delivered? I've noticed in the lists posted that there are only Adventure models available, but given the people posting only have Adventure reservations that makes sense. I wonder if they're even making Launch Edition R1Ts anymore, and just the OC holdouts are left waiting.

Still waiting on my LE but I do have R1 Shop access. Pretty set on the dark 20s though and haven’t seen those in the shop on Red Canyon.

Yea over the last month definitely not a combo I've seen. I think I've seen maybe one or two trucks with dark 20s total.
