Putco is seeking a Rivian in the Des Moines area for research and development. Time would be less than 2 hours and we would only be scanning the bed via a blue laser scanner for a 3D model. Putco would offer compensation for the time and access to the truck. Let us know if anyone is interested. Thank you, Putco. 800-247-3974 ask for James

Just talked with James and made an appointment for Monday. Should be pretty cool!

Hey everyone, long time lurker, first time poster.

From Ankeny, IA, Reservation from Dec ‘21, I wish I had done it earlier!

Had the opportunity to do a First Mile Drive just a couple days ago in KC. Sold me even more than I was previously. Drove home and immediately changed to powered tonneau, hoping it gets me one faster, because I loved driving that truck.

I've got the alignment issue where it pulls to the right.

I'm getting a lot of noises from the front suspension on starts and stops. I've read a lot about issues. It has me a little concerned. I'll likely have them check it out when the look at the alignment.

Do you think the noise is more obvious because of no engine noise? How much squeaking is "normal". I know with my tesla you can hear more suspension noise.

It's possible. I wouldn't describe what I hear as squeaking. Its more the tock/clunk type sound. But nothing significant. Its when approaching a stop and taking off again.

No major issues for me mechanically (knock on wood). I’ll admit though, each time I drive the thing I’m nervous something’s going to start making noises or some service soon message is going to pop up.. I do read all the issue threads on this forum though too.

That said. I frickin love this truck and I’m giddy as hell each time I get to drive it. It’s done everything I need it to do. Any buyers remorse - zero. I’m happy.

Ugh, my tonneau cover broke this morning. Not as happy as I was yesterday. Service repeated what others are reporting, they’re not fixing them anymore until the redesign is released.

So I got to work on my broken tonneau cover. Just did some pushing and pulling on the panels to get them lined up even again and fully pulled into the open position where I was happy that at least it doesn't look broken. I pushed the button to close it after that and the thing fully closed just fine. I'm sure it'll break again, but at least I know with someone pushing the button for me while I line things up it can be functional again, at least for a while.

I see some eight plastic discs on the panel under my toneau. They are likely just covering some disassembly bolts, and maybe can see the whole works if I carefully monkey with a partial take down.
Good work Tyler!
