In seeing post about new truck firmware I did a quick check of Rivian home charger firmware. I do this every couple of weeks and there hasn’t been a new version in a while. Just noticed that it had updated. I don’t notice any difference. I’d see if it’s WiFi connectivity limitations are fixed but don’t want to do that (kinda of a PITA to revert if it ain’t fixed and the dog is currently sleeping) without some indication that issue has been worked on.

it would be nice to have some release notes for charger firmware and some notion from Rivian that charger functionality will improve over time. There are a bunch of things that would be great to monitor and control (Cylon eye lights being one) in addition to plenty of things to fix like the WiFi adapter’s issues.

My logs indicate my update came in 8/20. Not overly alarming volume but while not downloading an update for the charger seems pretty chatty for what I think it should be exchanging with Rivian and app infrastructure. Over 30 days...

Probably scans of my whole network. I mean, it does have Cylon eyes.

Just a complete shot in the dark, you can try to power cycle the wall charger (turn off the breaker and back on)? That will reboot it and I would think force some form of a check-in. It's something you try...

I'm still on 03.00.30, and checking daily because my guide informed me that the latest firmware 03.01.47 fixes the spaces and special characters in the WiFi SSID problems.

I'm broadcasting a dedicated SSID just for the charger until that firmware updates. Glad to see others are getting the update.

I don't know anything else fixed, but that one should be resolved in the new version!

V03.01.47. Doesn’t have the BOX versioning info which was what originally caught my attention that something had changed.

Interesting. Mine hasn't updated yet. I Assume BBOX means BusyBox, a common Linux environment used on many embedded devices. https://busybox.net/
