ah got it - Missed that...I saw that Rivian was doing the repairs which led me to believe they are covering the damages. They aren't. OP already said their insurance is going to be paying.

What does Rivian say about it not recording?I've had my truck for less than 2 1/2 weeks and the worst fear of any owner happened. My truck rear window was broken into, a bunch of my stuff was stolen in my garage and GEAR GUARD DID NOT RECORD AT ALL!! NO ALARM, NO NOTIFICATIONS...NOTHING!
I have Gear Guard set to record everywhere and it didn't work when I needed it the most. Since that day of the break-in, it hasn't recorded anything at all actually. The gear guard was one of the features I was excited for and to see it not work is beyond disappointing.
So good to hear!!Yes they'll be doing repairs and a full diagnostic of all systems, particularly Gear Guard.
That's a stab to your heart! Sorry to hear the gear guard vids were of no help and the damage the perp caused. I don't understand peoples mindset when they key cars. That's not an easy nor cheap thing to fix.@TheHedgehog116
For starters... I am incredibly sorry to hear what happened. Some truly miserable people out in this world.
Secondly I had my r1t for not even a month and somebody keyed both the driver and passenger door! Gearguard recorded everything but it was so no help there.
For me Gearguard needed a "soft" reset in the first 2-4 weeks of having my R1T and now has been working without fail.
Again... Sorry.
I’m sorry that happened to you. I hope you get your truck back shortly. That's a stab to your heart! Sorry to hear the gear guard vids were of no help and the damage the perp caused. I don't understand peoples mindset when they key cars. That's not an easy nor cheap thing to fix.
I remember watching a video of a guy going around a parking lot keying teslas/random cars and luckily sentry mode caught him in action and the owner was able to review the footage and actually catch the guy still in the parking lot before he got away.
Once I get my R1T back and notice the gear guard or other features aren't working well, I'll definitely be doing soft resets until software updates address all of them.
We don't have it yet...@Khaneric i may have missed it, did the most recent software update enable an audible alarm or not? And I’m not talking bird chirping or flashing lights or an app push notification. I mean a frickin HORN/ALARM/SIREN to piss off everyone in the hood and wake my wife up from her deep sleep with her various military defense mechanisms to address the problem?
Same. Noticed today mine stopped (again) a couple days ago. Reboot fixes it but obviously shouldn’t have to resort to that. Lots of issues getting corrected (and some introduced) in OTAs…many of which aren’t in release notes. Let’s hope this gets taken care of soon.I have had numerous instances where gear guard stops recording altogether and requires a system reboot to start recording again. Unfortunately, that's probably what happened to you too.
I leave proximity locking on at home. Even my ICE vehicle will kill its 12v battery if left unlocked. Locking is more secure and lets the vehicle sleep. What I am surprised by is someone has proximity locking enabled inside a garage. I leave proximity locking/unlocking off for home because it drives me absolutely insane.
When its in the garage I just leave it unlocked.
Too soon too soon!! ?I know that Gear Guard has had a few misses, but last night it did catch a cat burglar attempting to get into my truck

Did y'all do the standard soft reset, or do you mean a sleep cycle?Reboot fixes it
Soft reset (both outer thumb buttons) gets it working again for me.Did y'all do the standard soft reset, or do you mean a sleep cycle?
