With the RiDE you could see the max voltage is 4.15V and the minimum is 2.85V.
RiDE? IS that OBDII snooping SW?

At those voltages they will get pretty close to advertised capacity, but not quite hit it.
My crude graph (based on the 1C Green plot line) seems to indicate about 4,600mAh at 2.85V cutoff which gives you 16.56wH x 7776 cells = 129kWh pack.

By the cell manufacturers numbers using their recommended top and cutoff voltages the pack is 135kWh capacity, if Rivian is protecting the cells by using 4.15V top and 2.85V cutoff voltages, then the pack actual capacity is closer to 129kWh.

The usable capacity of the battery is 130 based on the EPA figures (2.4 mi/kwh and 314 miles range).

The RIDE thing was a backdoor way into a service menu that showed a bunch of detailed information about the sensors and batteries. It has been changed to be more secure in a recent update and nobody has had success getting back in.

Well, that absolutely confirms that the door flashlight doesn’t contain the “7777th identical cell” - as my flashlight contains a 3.2V, 2Ah cell:

A pity. The 7777th cell would have been a very cool engineering detail instead of a marketing half-truth. Presumably a well-intentioned idea diluted by the practical limits of manufacturing the flashlight itself. Which reminds me, anyone actually used that flashlight purposefully? : )
I can't recall the last time I thought to use it (I have work lights and the phone light …)

I’ve used it on several occasions and found it to be very practical. Can be very bright in its brightest setting.

I use it more recently since our mountain bike rides end after dark. I grab the light and do a quick check to make sure everything got in the truck before rolling out. Very useful.

It's definitely bright, like most halfway decent LED flashlights. Now that I realize I just never use it, I'd rather have the Rolls Royce umbrella (in both front doors.) It just occurred to me as I read this thread I'd forgotten it's even there (I guess it's also been a long while since anyone accosted me to quiz me on the Rivian … that's one of the "quirky" things I'd show anyone … Rivians are starting to be less of a gosh wow novelty … a good sign of progress.)

I've used it twice thus far. Once while laying inside the bed spraying dry lube on the tonneau and the other time when I was looking for a chipmunk that had found its way into my garage and wasn't very interested in leaving.

I will say, however, there are probably a few other times where it would have been handy but I didn't think to use it. Just like the camp speaker.

It would have been much nicer if they had actually used a 5ah 21700 cell from the battery pack vs. the lame 2ah cell they currently use in the torch.

did the dry lube help?
has Rivian offered any DIY maintenance tips?

Does Rivian have a "not below xx% capacity after xx years" guarantee on the pack?
Rivian R1T R1S Sandy Munro Tearing Down Rivian R1T Battery Pack Screenshot_20220910_130037

Battery Pack: Coverage includes all components inside the high-voltage battery and 70% or more of the battery capacity for 8 years or 175,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Okay, this video shows posted Jun 7, and has > 140k views. Did I miss it or did it just get made public? I really feel like I didn't miss it's premier...I have been anticipating and waiting for it!

The repackaged cell is the same size as a 21700. Guessing they designed the casing and truck around the cell and realized way too late that they needed to include protection equipment for the individual cell and ended up having to downsize it.

Here is a noob question. Is swapping out your battery pack a viable solution at say 300,000 miles/ X years, If you wanted to keep your original Truck? In my head, I’m thinking I could pay whatever to swap the battery pack out instead of dropping another 100k.
