Any R1S pre-orders hear from guides recently?

I'm in a similar boat. As an Explore order, in Dec. 2022 I had no window (and no contact at all). The email I got in December or January said, we're about to shuffle up the order, taking into account order date, config, and location--so make your choices and we'll let you know at the end of January. I immediately upgraded to Adventure. LE was of course long gone.

January turned into February, February into March, price hike fiasco, etc. The announcements just said I'd get an email "s00n."

The email came around the beginning of July, saying 1H 2023. I wasn't sure if I should regard it as personal, taking my order date into account, or if it was a blast to all non-LE holders. That's the window-less box of silence I occupied before.

Someone mentioned that Support stated we should all be receiving delivery estimates and future production updates on our order page on the website ... Coming the 3rd week of September... Let's hope that happens...

awesome news. hopefully some signs of life for the rest of us. really similar cadence of engagement with rivian on config lock, guide assignment etc. fingers crossed.

By "third week of September," I assume they mean Presidents' Day.

They have been saying by the end of summer they would have that on our accounts but now with the possible rail strike this Friday who knows what that will to to their production supplies.

Fingers crossed the strike is averted or we will be in for a rough close to 2022….

Wow got my configuration confirmation email last Tuesday 9/6; finished steps 1 to 6; asked the guide when to expect delivery and he said 6-8 weeks; asked him where the R1S was last Friday and he said still at the factory; today, I received a call from Rivian South San Francisco and said the R1S is ready for delivery; scheduled for this Thursday 9/15 and also completed step 7; step 8 was automatically completed when they scheduled me.

Wow.... can't wait!

Posted elsewhere but I'll post here too for wider visibility. I was able to get in contact with my guide. We were expecting my 8 steps to open today but they still aren't. My guide can't explain why. He forced the system to send me a PBA (which I signed) to try and kick start the system to no avail. He really can't explain why they aren't visible to me. He said he was going to work with someone in "systems" to see what is going on. Anyone else had this experience where the guide expected 8 steps to be open but they weren't for some reason? If so, what resolved it?

I had several days between confirming my configuration and starting the 8 step. If I were you I'd just chill a bit and let the process happen. There is very little you can or will do to move the process forward more quickly short of not make the payment when your vehicle is ready. If you are waiting weeks between steps then perhaps an escalation but doesn't sound like that's the case here.

Maybe no one wants to hear this, but if people are really frustrated why not move on to greener pastures. In the next year or two there will be many more options out there.

Maybe no one wants to hear this, but if people are really frustrated why not move on to greener pastures. In the next year or two there will be many more options out there.

I bought a Pacifica PHEV last week. So I have a large family hauler and got it while the credit was still there. Also picking up a used Kia Soul EV next week as a stopgap, to replace the 01 Prius (which still runs like a top, but no longer has heat, AC, or defrost).

But I've waited this long, and I want my RS1. With the credit.

Once the credit isn't on the line, I can chill and wait again. I'd even go back to Explore and back to the end of the line if that were an option. But until something better actually becomes available (like the affordable base model of the Fisker Ocean), I'm wanting what I put up for back on Day 2.
