Good luck with that ... maybe if you switch to Adventure Package. I think I have a better chance of waiting 4 years.
Or just move to Canada.

I'm getting my R1S regardless of the tax credit. Not living on a prayer like some folks who adamantly believe they are entitled to getting the credit. ?

I bought a Pacifica PHEV last week. So I have a large family hauler and got it while the credit was still there. Also picking up a used Kia Soul EV next week as a stopgap, to replace the 01 Prius (which still runs like a top, but no longer has heat, AC, or defrost).

But I've waited this long, and I want my RS1. With the credit.

Once the credit isn't on the line, I can chill and wait again. I'd even go back to Explore and back to the end of the line if that were an option. But until something better actually becomes available (like the affordable base model of the Fisker Ocean), I'm wanting what I put up for back on Day 2.
I’m glad you’re covered. I am too (Tesla and gas guzzler for the right balance, sold the rest). I like the tax credit too.
At this point, I think I’m only going to get the S because I said I would. It can come next week or next year, it’s all good.
I think a lot of us are blasĆ© at this point but it’ll be great when we get it.

Same. The tax credit would be nice but they’ll end up telling us we make too much or something else like that. It’s okay, life is good.

Right on. We are blessed to be in a position of getting a 80k+ vehicle.

Although... I will say that not logging on and congifuring an LE in time, likely to be delivered in 2022 may end up being a very costly mistake for me...oh well!

Well said. Sometimes when I read these boards I do get an overwhelming sense of entitlement and first world problems as people complain non-stop about waiting on delivery of a now close to 100k+ vehicle. Without wanting to sound preachy it's important to remember that there are a broad set of folks buying these vehicles with radically different economic backgrounds, financing situations etc. While the affluent are obviously overrepresented in this demographic not everyone has 3 Teslas, temporary EV's and a Lightning and Hummer on backorder. For some this purchase is a really big deal and represents a significant allocation of net worth. Anyway, important to be sensitive to this fact when building out a community of owners IMHO.

First EWF, now Bon Jovi. But that's good--he's from your neck of the woods. ?

Absolutely!

I'm urgently looking forward to affordability and widespread adoption, and actually kinda frustrated with the emphasis on rocket like speed rather than minimizing impact. But I'm also a big guy who wants to haul teenagers and stuff, and I'd fit in a Leaf or an i3 about as well as Mr. Incredible (though I'm very differently shaped). So here I am, since I'm fortunate enough. But I've never spent this much for transport, and never would if it weren't part of the urgent transition to a more sustainable system.

(I really really wanted to be an early Tesla adopter, but I don't even fit in those. The headroom under the roof is OK, but the top of the windshield is at the center of my vision--I had to squunch to see.)

But yeah--we're all fortunate.

Btw, the EV6 is fun to drive. We thought about it. But it's not an SUV. It's a station wagon.

Or just move to Canada.
At least you are getting a service center built in BC. There is no word yet for the rest of the country. My guess is that you will get delivery much earlier than the rest of Canada.

I'd love to wait for the EV9 but I'm too emotionally invested in Rivian now and there is no turning back. ?

I feel you. 11/28/2018 pre order, bay area le/lg/20AT/bm and not a peep. I started seeing them driving around here so it's close...but the order of deliveries is a total mystery to me at this stage.
I'm a 2/19. I asked my

That may be it. Or it may just be that Rivian isn’t very good at communicating. If they just would get more in front of this stuff I bet 95% of the issues would be solved. For example, I’m an Aug/Sept delivery window (after being delayed previously). Isn’t it fair at this point (September 14) to have expected a proactive communication from the company on the timing of my R1S? I do reach out to my guide but he can only look so far ahead - it’s not his fault. Itā€˜s more systemic. It’s one thing to acknowledge that there are plenty of hurdles as an early adopter, but the flip side is that it shouldn’t be hard to have a good communications team and manage expectations with your customers...
