The adventure is keeping them skinnier than I thought. I like a big thick backend, and while I’ve seen a few R1Ts driving from the other side of the freeway, I haven’t been able to touch or see up close any of them.
So I decided over the weekend to run over to a service center(Minneapolis) and they had about 30 trucks it appeared and a few R1S. I’m an R1S preorder holder myself so was excited to see it up close, and so was my wife. The spoiler alert is.. seeing it in person cost me $$$ as I am ditching the 21s which are so incredibly ugly and going with the 22s.
Overall, while we were happy with the look.. I’m very surprised about how thin the back is. I could basically wrap my arms easily around the whole thing which makes me wonder how cramped it may feel in there or if the looks are deceiving. Time will tell, our order is due in 3 or so months if all goes well, but curious on anyone’s thoughts that are used to midsize SUVs? This R1S bills itself as full size, but in comparison it wouldn’t be even close to the competition where every inch matters in this space.
