Look at raw material prices and the complexity of what they’ve made. The my ARE losing money on every one they sell for the original price. And they’ll go bankrupt because of it.This not not a thing. They are not losing money on all of these orders just making a lot less in margin.
The economy is taking a hit. They need these pre-orders to start bringing in cash and showing progress to the street. Not building the vehicles would cost the company more than the discounted prices.
They also need to build them to show the suppliers they are worthy of focus for some of the still limited supply items. There are also most likely quotas in their parts orders to get specific pricing.
It is frustrating but everyone is struggling with deliveries right now. GM just extended their window out another year on building 400k EVs to be into 2024 now.
Same here...well, maybe there will be a bunch of cool new features by then, and they'll have worked most of the kinks out.My R1S order went from an estimated delivery of 2nd half of 2023 to JAN-DEC 2024.
Yeah, I'm selling mine on the next up swing if that ever happens. Done with this company...I see another member here the same order date 1/22 that has a 2023 date... Mine is 2024. WTF!?

I am betting we see stock prices drop today..
Ouch... At least I went from not having a window to still not having a window. This hurtsReservation date - October 2021
Last delivery estimate from Rivian was Oct-Dec 2022.
Now it's "Processing Estimate"

Or they'll have stripped more and more from it, so they save $$$ on deliveries. Oh but hey, we'll get OTA updates!Same here...well, maybe there will be a bunch of cool new features by then, and they'll have worked most of the kinks out.
If you say so, guess they are doomed like how Tesla was supposed to go bankrupt for a decade.Look at raw material prices and the complexity of what they’ve made. The my ARE losing money on every one they sell for the original price. And they’ll go bankrupt because of it.
I like your take on it mate! Mine is a 2/22 order. I was originally told "after 2023" and I was planning on 2033 but was pleasantly surprised to see 1/24-12/24 date. That is almost a decade earlier! I take my first-world problems in strides. I would have loved to have the car sooner but as you have so nicely pointed out-a delay might actually be good.Same here...well, maybe there will be a bunch of cool new features by then, and they'll have worked most of the kinks out.
No, it isn't offered for the R1S. I have the Large...though I didn't go with the LE because at the time the Max Pack for the R1S would be announced soonMax pack?
mine just says "configured"Why are some configurations "confirmed". While others have configuration "complete", and some just say "configured"
