Order process clarification

My thoughts exactly. The OP orders an R1T and is receiving it in a little less than a year. Here I am coming up on the fourth anniversary of my original order and I have an expected delivery date of 2024. WTF is right. I have even been denied access to the R1 Shop because I live in an incorrect location, whatever that is.

exactly. I just met a guy who lives 6 blocks from me who received his R1T last July... his order was placed June 2021. smh

But you have an R1S on order so it makes sense that yours would be much later than your neighbors R1T. They have made ~14k R1Ts and only ~1500 R1S.

At least you are in a region where you could conceivably use an address in a larger city and manage to increase your chances.

Rivian is not even delivering to my entire country, outside of one city this year.

At least you are in a region where you could conceivably use an address in a larger city and manage to increase your chances.

Rivian is not even delivering to my entire country, outside of one city this year.

We kind of tried that already. At one point earlier this year, we changed our delivery address to the Factory in Normal, as we would like to take factory delivery. We received a rather curt email from Rivian saying that this was unacceptable, and they had flagged our account. Rivian changed back our delivery address to our home address in Florida.

why not change it to a friends or relatives address? Changing it to the Rivian factory is bound to draw attention and it's not the same as a personal address of a relative.

I'm a Jan '22 preorder as well with basically the same configuration, color, interior, except I have 21" wheels. I'm 24 miles from the ATL SC with an April - June '23 delivery estimate. Other than the delivery estimate.....crickets.

I'm not complaining about my estimate, it's actually better than I expected. But it's more than annoying when the lottery strikes and one is passed over. You 2018/19/20 people have the patience of Job. I'm not sure I could be that patient with the way Rivian ignores the preorder list.

While it might make financial sense in the short term, it probably doesn't make business sense. Now you are pissing a bunch of long-time reservation holders who will no longer advocate for your brand at best. I imagine some might even turn their back and discourage their friends and family from purchasing one in the future after this kind of BS.

From my perspective, I am no longer surprised that Rivian would put out more shenanigans, even if they are at detriment of their reservation holders/customers.

Except you are making the R1T reservation holders even happier since they get theirs earlier. So it’s probably a wash. I do feel bad for the R1S holders but we always knew it would be second to the R1T for awhile.

I thought there are far more R1S reservation holders than R1T (I can be wrong on that). Plus, pissed off customers always make more noise than those that are satisfied.

I don't mind the 6-9 month lag between the launches of R1T & R1S, but making someone who ordered their R1S back in 2019/20/21 until 2024 (at the earliest) while those ordering R1T earlier this year can get theirs early next year??

i do think the R1S reservations outnumber the T now. I think Rivian should have waited a year or two to take reservations for the S. They should have just released one vehicle first like Tesla did.
