So lucky I left some speaker wires in the wall and actually remembered where they were. Was able to use them to pull a wire snake through. Ran 6/2 copper in the wall without surface mounting conduit on the wall.

Truth. As a Portlander, we have to bring at least three bikes with us when we visit Bend, or we're looked at askance.

Here's my install. I took off the Tesla wall connector, and installed the Rivian one.
60A circuit, 6 GA THHN.

I had to pull out the old wiring, as it was 2 gauge to support 100A circuit / 80A charging. My prior tesla (Model X) was capable of 72A charging. Replaced with 6 gauge for 60A / 48A charging.

Why not leave the existing (expensive) 2awg wiring and just swap the breaker and use 6awg pigtails to the EVSE?

60A breaker wouldn't hold the wire either. I could have pigtailed both ends, but that's also not as easy for me. Plus i'll probably not be going back to 100A charging, as there aren't cars that take that, nor chargers that deliver that.

Nothing fancy but 60A breaker for 48A charging. Yes, my yard tools need a cleaning. If I ever used them, I would consider being bothered.
