They still have room to improve.

I went in at my appointment time to pickup my new truck and they said they are replacing the front camera. Please wait 45 min. I waited 2 hrs and they sent me home because they have issue aligning the ADAS system. Then I went back a couple hours and it was all working. They gave me a $20 starbux card and some stickers for my inconvenience. I wasn't too bothered.

The only issue found so far is the tail gate doesn't automatically open. I see they tried to adjust the fitment because the paint on the screws on the gooseneck hinge is all stripped.
Are they "Gary" stickers???

Oh, I forgot to mention an interesting comment from the Rivian rep today… she mentioned that my truck was “one of the very last” to get the air compressor included stock. I was very surprised to hear this; I know that many of the options (spare tire, tonneau, etc) were moving to the Gear Store, but this is the first time I’d heard anyone refer to the air compressor as an option. I’m not sure if she was misinformed, I just missed it elsewhere, or this is genuine news.
Munro....hard at work

I hope this is not true.....

We’re paying cash. It’s a simple ACH. The only step that’s holding us up is 8. We’re picking up at the factory and expect that step to open up Monday. We’re not trading a car. The contract was quick. Our insurance broker will issue the proof of coverage when we have the delivery date. So, pretty quick.

I don’t know if I’d put too much stock in what they said. While CS and our guide have been great, they seems to find out very little about the production process.

We’re actually getting a Launch Edition. Our guide had no idea it was LE when he matched us to the available VIN. When I asked if it was an old truck sitting around he said nope, manufactured 12/1/22. He did some digging and found out they are randomly making some LE R1Ts through end of year. It lowered our price $2,500 because the 20” AT are now included! We’ll probably have one of the few LE R1T with the manual tonneau.
Winning!!!!

I hope she is wrong, but this would not surprise me at all. The Munroification is in full swing. I do understand it though - they need to start making $ on each vehicle or they won’t survive.

I got through 6 of 8 steps relatively quickly, but then was taken backwards when Rivian didn’t approve my insurance coverage (which I was already paying for) because my policy renewal date is at the end of February, and Rivian requires 90 days of insurance coverage.

I’ve asked my insurance co if I can pay my renewal premium now, and thus far they’re saying that it’s too early for them to process the payment. The insurance person also said they’ve never heard of a car company refusing to sell you a car (when they’re not also the lender) because you “only” have 60+ days of insurance coverage, and this is ridiculous. I agreed, and pointed out that it’s equally ridiculous that their company is forcing me to take my business to a competitor because they’re unable to take my money. If my insurance co can’t figure this out by noon tomorrow, I’ll be forced to use Rivian’s insurance.

That can't be right? Rivian has delivered north of 15,000 vehicles and this has never come up before? So once the vehicle leaves the factory it's on your insurance even though it's on their (bonded/insured) transporter to it's final destination?

Speaking of Munro and cuts. Forum member (Openwide) just posted a pic of a brand new forest edge R1S without the wood accents on the back of the drivers and passengers seats where the usb charger is. Awesome.

I'll be doing the same. My guide said they might be able to give some type of tour maybe as well. Were you told something similar?

Strange as my POI showed an expiration date only 40 days out when I took delivery.

I'm calling BS on this one! (not on you @obfuscurity)

The built in onboard compressor is a major feature that Rivian has gone out of their way to point out as a "must have" feature for an "adventure vehicle" since day one. They've even made feature videos touting it's wonderful versatility and it's overall usefulness for everyday life.

We got a chuckle out of a guy in a nearly new Taco stealthily grabbing a photo of our R1T at a light this morning.
