If you have a reservation, they will be in touch (per their latest communications).Anyone know the best source for when and where you can test drive the R1S in 2021?
Or if drive is not an option, sit in an R1S?
All indications point to there being an opportunity to test drive. The details, however, are completely unknown.Anyone know the best source for when and where you can test drive the R1S in 2021?

Nope. Rivian has not scheduled any public events or made any announcements. If you subscribe to their email notifications you will know just as soon as Rivian decides to let anyone know what's going on.Anyone have an update on test drive availability?
"Soon".Anyone have an update on test drive availability?
I wouldn't expect test drives before May. By May, there will probably be enough people vaccinated that the logistics of doing test drives won't be prohibitively difficult.I asked if they were opening test drives based on location rules or Federal rules? I didn’t get anything other than more info soon.
With Florida and Texas open and Southern California quickly reopening, I would hope they could start test drives in those locations and move to others as they open too.
The last I heard was that you can sit in it and drive it right after they deliver your vehicle.Anyone know the best source for when and where you can test drive the R1S in 2021?

And they will make the delivery right after they complete the RAN charging network to your house. The last I heard was that you can sit in it and drive it right after they deliver your vehicle.
Pretty sure car test drives have been Covid safe (and permitted in most states) for some time now. I live in MD which has been relatively strict with respect to pandemic safety requirements and car test drives for individuals have been ok ever since last summer. I test drove an ipace back in September for kicks. (it's too small for me but a fun drive).I wouldn't expect test drives before May. Also, I expect that a relatively small number of people will get deliveries in June.
There is a difference between permitted and logistically, simple.Pretty sure car test drives have been Covid safe (and permitted in most states) for some time now.
I think I speak for everyone on this Forum when I deem every Rivian employee "an Essential Worker". Therefore, vaccinations for all shall be given in time to allow safe factory tours at the time we're there to pickup our pickups.Pretty sure car test drives have been Covid safe (and permitted in most states) for some time now. Having a gathering with many people at once is another issue all together and I can see why they don't want to do that. However, there should be no reason they can't bring the car to you for a 20 minute drive or have you come to them in a small group setting. I would think that would be more practical for introducing various car features anyway.
I'm an eternal optimist so my guess is they'll offer small group walk throughs and test drives for LE pre-orders. I think that starts in May so they can begin to confirm the June /July orders. By that time, most of this can be done outside as well so hopefully not an issue.
